‘High Potential’ Premiere Ratings Hit 11.5 Million Viewers in 3 Days
The series premiere of “High Potential” saw a 220% audience increase after three days of multiplatform viewing.
The initial telecast hit an average 3.6 million viewers on ABC on Sept. 17, according to Live + Same Day data from Nielsen. But when accounting for Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ and digital platforms, that number rose to 11.5 million viewers. And in rating among adults age 18-49, after starting out with a 0.35, the episode jumped 354% to a Multiplatform + 3 rating of 1.59.
Additionally, the 18-49 rating excluding linear encores hit 1.31 after three days — the highest for an ABC drama series premiere since the launch of “Big Sky” in November 2020. “High Potential” has also hit Hulu’s Top 15 chart, and took the No. 1 position for three days in a row beginning on Sept. 22. In Live + Same Day, “High Potential” was the most-watched broadcast series of its timeslot, beating out the encores of “Password” on NBC and “FBI: Most Wanted” on CBS that also aired at 10 p.m. that night.
Starring Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, per the official logline, the series “follows a single mom with an exceptional mind whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective” named Karadec, played by Daniel Sunjata. The cast also includes Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot and Judy Reyes as Selena.
Drew Godard created the series based on the French series “Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI).” He and Sarah Esberg serve as executive producers for Goddard Textiles alongside showrunner Todd Harthan as well as Dan Etheridge and Rob Thomas. Olson produces. ABC Signature is the studio.
