Hot on the heels of the new Batman animated series, Target has dropped a limited-edition Batman and Robin graphic novel with an exclusive cover.
“Batman: Caped Crusader” debuted on Prime Video August 1 and follows Bruce Wayne and his “one-man crusade for justice” as Batman. But as the series description teases, Batman “attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall” and his “heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.”
The new graphic novel, meantime, features Batman and Robin not as superhero and sidekick, but as father and son, as the dynamic duo team up to save the streets of Gotham City.
TARGET EXCLUSIVE EDITION
Batman and Robin Vol. 1: Father and Son
Of course, fans know that this version of Robin is actually Damian Wayne, the biological son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. First introduced as “Robin” in “Batman #657,” he’s back for a new era in this graphic novel, which is officially titled “Batman and Robin Vol. 1: Father and Son.”
This Target edition contains an exclusive cover that features the two characters in a brooding and mysterious all-black silhouette while posing against an illuminated cityscape. The 160-page graphic novel was released August 6 and is a Target exclusive, meaning you won’t be able to find this version of the book anywhere else.
Per publishers Random House, the new graphic novel follows Batman and Robin as they take on a new villain named Shush. “With Gotham City becoming a literal urban jungle, the greatest superhero team must uncover who this new foe is and who they’re working for,” reads the book description. “As if that’s not enough, Damian must embrace his secret identity and become something he’s never been before, a student.”
Pick up this Target exclusive “Batman and Robin” graphic novel for $20.99 at Target.com. This is a limited-edition release, which makes it an instant collectible for Batman fans and DC Comics collectors alike. See full details here.
