Barry Keoghan and Olivia Colman don Burberry‘s classic check in a new outerwear campaign out today.
The British luxury fashion house tapped a star-studded lineup of actors, musicians and athletes to front the new campaign, which also stars Zhang Jingyi, Cara Delevingne, English rapper Little Simz and soccer pros Cole Palmer and Eberechi Eze.
“It’s Always Burberry Weather,” a slogan taken from the Burberry archive, references “the robust elements of the brand’s garments and unpredictable British weather,” according to a statement. The campaign includes photos shot by Alasdair McLellan and a cinematic video, in addition to global pop-ups, window displays, in-store activations and a revival of archive illustration.
The star of the campaign is Burberry’s classic outwear — from anoraks and puffers to trenches and parkas — all in Burberry’s signature check pattern.
“Burberry is about protection, functionality and the outdoors. We are always inspired by our archive and the innovation and creativity of the brand,” Daniel Lee, Burberry CEO, said in a statement. “The campaign promotes the houses’s silhouettes: protective and enduring.”
In the campaign video, shot by director duo rubberband, Colman is seen driving around the English countryside in an olive green Burberry quilted coat in the traditional barn design. As the Oscar-winning actor tells a childhood story from behind the wheel, she finds herself stopped in her tracks by a herd of sheep. The two-minute ad ends with her counting sheep…literally.
