As you progress throughout the story of Metaphor: ReFantazio and more party members join you, you’ll get access to new recipes to cook while the Gauntlet Runner is traveling. Cooking is a great way to get useful consumables to use in battle or while exploring dungeons, with most of them usually outclassing any healing items you can buy at a shop.
Some cooking ingredients are more rare than others, and can usually only be purchased in one or two spots in the game. White Peach Turnips are one of these ingredients and they can only be purchased in one location; here’s where.

The only place you can buy White Peach Turnips is from the Village Butcher on Virga Island. Fast Travel to the Sandy Coast and follow the coast northwest up to the corner instead of curving back down to town to find the butcher in a small wooden hut on stilts in the water. He sells White Peach Turnips for 1,000 Reeve a piece, and you’re able to buy as many as you’d like so spend a pretty penny and stock up. He also sells:
- Monster Bone – 1,200 Reeve
- Mora Coney Meat – 500 Reeve
- Limp Goldfish – 2,500 Reeve

White Peach Turnips are used for three different recipes; here’s all you’ll need and also what each recipe does.
Recipe Name |
Ingredients |
Effects |
---|---|---|
Indestructible Honey Cake |
White Peach Turnip – 2 Altabury Wheat Flour – 2 Lumibee – 2 |
Creates a barrier that nullifies one Slash, Pierce, or Strike attack. |
Sweeter than Poison… |
White Peach Turnip – 1 Gauntlet Shrooms – 1 Lumibee – 1 |
Restores 200 MP and cures Poison for one ally. |
Holistic Whitefish Platter |
Limp Goldfish – 2 White Peach Turnip – 2 Gauntlet Shrooms- 1 |
Fully restores HP for all allies. |
While each recipe is fairly useful, Sweeter than Poison is greatly worth stocking up on simply for the MP restoration. Late-game bosses can become long drawn out fights even at a higher level, and having consumables that restore so much MP will be invaluable. If you have extra White Peach Turnips, a few Indestructible Honey Cakes can be very useful against the optional dragon bosses at the end of the game, as having these will help you save a skill slot instead of using Skill Inheritance to get Tetrakarn.
