What to Expect From Palworld: Feybreak

Since its release, Palworld has experienced a good amount of growth, and it’s about to get even bigger. December 23 is a big day for Pocket Pair’s creation, as the game will receive the major Feybreak patch. This massive update is set to bring a lot of interesting new additions, all of which players are likely to appreciate. While it’s not here yet, fans of Palworld who are itching to know what the Feybreak update will bring have a decent amount of information from developer Pocket Pair to go off.

Since Palworld‘s official X account posted about a major December patch, fans of the game have been anticipating what it could entail. The 2024 edition of The Game Awards helped answer a few questions, as it provided fans with a trailer for the Feybreak update, showing everyone some of the content that’s coming. However, though the video did a good enough job of hyping up the community for what’s to come, some questions were left unanswered. While Pocket Pair didn’t say exactly what the update will provide, a few things are clear based on what the developer has decided to give everyone a glimpse at.

What Players Should Expect From Palworld’s Feybreak Update

A New Faction Looks to Be On the Way to Palworld

Based on what’s shown in the trailer, the factions of Palword are likely in for a new addition. Those who have seen the video will have undoubtedly noticed the large and muscular elderly man, who seems quite powerful while capable of performing martial arts. While it remains unclear as to who he and his masked lackeys are, they’re likely to play a big role on the new island they’re set to be established on.

The Feybreak Update Will Have More Biomes and Pals

With Pocket Pair guaranteeing an island six times bigger than the game’s Sakurajima island, there will definitely be new environments to explore. The trailer reveals some of those new areas, complete with a few fresh Pals that could become potential partners. These are undoubtedly exciting additions, as they provide more diverse experiences when traveling and seeing what the world has to offer. Players can expect to go to places such as:

• Rocky Mountains for players to scale and likely find ground-type Pals, though the trailer also shows a dark-type monster, which means they could also inhabit the area.
• An area covered in snow and crystals seemingly formed from ice, meaning more ice-type Pals could be included, but the presence of a dark ghost-like entity could suggest the presence of monsters with dual elements.
• Land that looks to be experiencing autumn, which could mean there are Pals whose themes revolve around the season.

These new areas could be some of Palworld‘s most beautiful locations, or its deadliest. It all depends on how Pocket Pair designs them, but hopefully these places have enough distinct elements to feel both important and fun to explore.

There Is the Potential for Palworld Finally Getting a Story

Palworld’s Feybreak update could step up where the Sakurjima patch slipped, as it could finally bring narrative content to the game. Though there’s no confirmation, the expectation rises from the trailer showing the new faction leader saving his men from dragon-like monsters, and then going up against and eventually befriending a powerfully built Pal. The player could be thrust into the middle of the conflict, becoming someone who will influence events and shape a proper storyline. Hopefully, this is being planned by Pocket Pair, as the game would benefit greatly from a story mode. Still, this is purely speculation, as right now players should only be confident in seeing a new region, fresh faction, and more Pals.

The Feybreak update for Palworld is coming very soon, and ideally, it will improve the game in ways that will attract more people to the title. Pocket Pair could also bring some surprises, making the eventual release of the patch all the more exciting.
