Summary
Table of Contents
- Vision Quest spinoff will see return of villain Raza from Iron Man, played by Faran Tahir.
- Plot may involve Vision regaining memories post-Avengers: Infinity War.
- Dead villains, like Ultron, are expected to return in the Disney+ series with Paul Bettany.
When the WandaVision spinoff series Vision Quest hits Disney+ it will be bringing a surprise return of a villain that Marvel fans thought was long dead. While there isn’t a ton known about Vision Quest just yet, including what the plot might be, there is a confirmation on at least one baddie that will make an appearance at some point.
What is known about Vision Quest is that it is set to take place sometime after the conclusion of the WandaVision series that saw a white “resurrected” version of Vision take on the conjured original version as part of the plot to free Westview from the magic grip of the Scarlet Witch. It’s believed at least part of the plot of Vision Quest will see the artificial man trying to regain his memory after his death at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: infinity War.

Old Iron Man Villain Returns For Vision Quest
Deadline is reporting that one of the people Vision might go toe-to-toe with in the new show will be none other than terrorist and villain Raza. Faran Tahir is reportedly making a return to the role he made famous back in the movie that started it all. Raza was last seen in Iron Man and was the leader of the sect that took Tony Stark hostage and in doing so, forced him to come up with a way to stay alive, formulating the Iron Man armor.
Tahir is an actor, producer, writer, and director whose has plenty of credits in the science fiction arena. Those credits include Iron Man, Star Trek, and Elysium. While he’s got plenty of movie experience he’s also appeared in plenty of television shows including The Old Man, Syfy’s 12 Monkeys, ABC’s Scandal, Fox’s Prison Break, CW’s Supergirl, CBS’ Criminal Minds, ABC’s Elementary and he’s appeared alongside James Spader in The Blacklist.
Speaking of Spader, while details are scarce about what’s going to happen in Vision Quest, it appears that dead villains will play a part in one way or another. It was previously reported that Spader’s Ultron was making a comeback in this Disney+ series, though like Raza, it’s not clear how the baddie is back or in what capacity he might be back. Raza was killed in the original Iron Man by Obadiah Stane who was covering up his plot that led the 10 Rings under Raza’s direction to attack Stark. Though Raza and his cronies were supposed to kill Tony rather than taking him prisoner. And, of course, if they had listened, Iron Man would never have been born.

The project has seen some ups and downs considering that Vision Quest been in development at Disney+ since 2022 and was picked up to series in May. The show will of course also have return Paul Bettany as the main character. And while the series doesn’t have an official release date, it’s expected to hit the streaming service sometime in 2026.
