Summary
- A new announcement for something Tony Hawk-related has been teased for March 4.
- Activision teased the date in a remastered Call of Duty map, which is set inside a skate park.
- Previous rumors and teases point toward the announcement being a remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4.
A potentially big announcement surrounding Activision’s Tony Hawk’s series has been teased in a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 map. The latest Call of Duty game recently received its big Season 2 Reloaded update, but fans were quick to notice that one of the game’s new remastered maps, which is set inside of a skate park, has a Tony Hawk’s easter egg that points toward a March 4 announcement.
The famous Tony Hawk’s franchise has seen numerous skateboarding games released over the years, from the first Pro Skater title in 1999 to the remakes of Pro Skater 1 and 2 in 2020. There have also been numerous other titles with the skateboarding legend’s name attached to them, including Tony Hawk’s Underground, Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland, and many more. At the time of writing, the Tony Hawk’s IP is owned by Activision-Blizzard, who published the most recent remakes almost 5 years ago now. After receiving positive reviews from players, the community has been eagerly awaiting news on a new title or more remakes.

Tony Hawk Announcement Teased in New Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update
On February 20, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 received its highly anticipated Season 2 Reloaded update. While there were plenty of bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and weapon adjustments, there was also plenty of new content added to the game. From a crossover with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to brand new modes, Season 2 Reloaded has plenty for fans to check out. What the community wasn’t expecting to find was a potential announcement date for something Tony Hawk’s related. As spotted by CharlieIntel, Grind, which is a remastered map from Black Ops 2 and set inside a skate park, features the Tony Hawk’s logo with the date March 4, 2025, hinting that a big announcement is on the way.
While Activision owns both Call of Duty and the Tony Hawk’s franchise, fans were taken aback to see the easter egg in a Black Ops 6 map. However, an announcement relating to the Tony Hawk’s series shouldn’t be all that surprising, as rumors have already been circulating on a potential remaster or remake for quite some time. Earlier this week, professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones revealed that he was going to be in a remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Given that the first two games have already received remakes, it’s possible that Pro Skater 3 and 4 will be next to receive the same treatment.
Prior to Jones’ comment on another remake, Tony Hawk himself celebrated the 25th anniversary of Pro Skater by teasing fans with a cryptic message regarding the future of the franchise. In a lengthy Instagram post, Hawk talked about how the Pro Skater franchise had changed the course of skateboarding’s popularity before going on to say that he wasn’t allowed to tease anything but that there “will be a future” for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. After all the teases and rumors, fans will finally get to see what’s in store for the franchise on March 4.
