The Sims 4‘s kits were introduced in 2021. Intended to be hyperfocused on a particular theme, The Sims 4‘s kits only offer a few items, but enough to pull together an outfit or build a room around a certain theme. Kits tend to complement base game content, but the best ones tend to have items that are unique. Kits are split between Build and Create-a-Sim, or CAS, with one kit focusing on one or the other.

Masculine framed Sims tend to get fewer Create-a-Sim items than feminine Sims in expansion packs. Kits can be a way to find a balance between the two, with some Create-a-Sim kits being more equal than expansion packs in this regard. Children also tend to get overlooked in expansion packs, and kits that focus on Child Create-a-Sim items can help to fill that gap. CAS kits can also add certain outfits that tend to be lacking in The Sims 4, such as swimwear, or items such as business casual.

The Sims 4: Business Chic Kit

The Incheon Arrivals Kit is based on Korean airport fashion, featuring clothes in soft neutral colors and comfy but stylish casual wear. The Urban Homage Kit includes some beautiful outfits and pieces inspired by the past, but with a modern twist, and includes some gorgeous hairstyles and accessories. The Business Chic Kit adds some classic business casual pieces that go with everything, as well as some much-needed shoes.

A-Tier: Fashionable Styles for All Sims

Children rarely get catered to in CAS, and the First Fits Kit fills that gap. The Carnaval Streetwear and Fashion Street Kits are drawn from Brazilian and Indian fashion respectively, giving The Sims 4 some much-needed representation, and they both include some of the best CAS items in The Sims 4. The Sweet Slumber Party includes a wide range of well-designed sleepwear, as well as some fun accessories, allowing for some fun storytelling scenarios for Simmers, particularly Teens.

B-Tier: Popular Styles For All Seasons

The Sims 4: Goth Galore Kit

The Sims 4: Moonlight Chic Kit
The Sims 4: Poolside Splash Kit

The Goth Galore Kit adds some much-needed make-up to The Sims 4 and is the perfect complement to content packs such as Vampires. The Modern Menswear and Moonlight Chic Kits include much-needed items for male-framed Sims, who often go neglected in content add-ons. The Poolside Splash Kit includes a range of swimwear for Sims of all life stages Child and above, and includes matching swimsuits for the whole family.

C-Tier: Create-a-Sim Items That Don’t Quite Match The Theme

The Sims 4: Grunge Revival Kit

The Grunge Revival Kit has some throwbacks to the grunge trend, with more of an emphasis on old and thrifted items rather than clothing that is grunge in style. However, the items do complement the Werewolves game pack. The Throwback Fit Kit was one of the first kits to be released and, like the Simtimates Collection Kit, while the items are well-made, there are other options for these items in the base game and in other packs.
