Upon first impression of the MAVIX M9, it’s clear that this gaming chair exudes luxury; from unboxing, to assembly, to lounging. The M9 feels like a gaming chair designed for more sophisticated gamers who want to take a step away from the usual brightly-colored racing-style seats with its sleek and stylish appearance befitting of any environment.

The air of luxury doesn’t stop at its appearance either, as MAVIX’s M-Breeze fabric gives the M9 an unbelievably soft finish across all sections of the chair (other than the lumbar support). M-Breeze, also known as Brisa fabric, is a breakthrough gel polymer that promotes airflow with a built-in ventilation system that doesn’t interfere with its soft, leather-like finish.

This gives the M9 a unique advantage for those who don’t prefer the look and feel of a mesh gaming chair, but still want the benefits of breathability and ventilation.

The components of the MAVIX M9 are quite weighty, which made the box it was shipped in quite heavy and required some assistance to move inside. Luckily, the actual assembly process was remarkably simple and only took about half an hour with no assistance. All in all, the packaging lived up to expectations and felt fitting for a chair in this price range.

Having arrived in a tall black and blue box, the package featured all components of the chair nicely wrapped in air pillows and specialized pieces of cardboard. All the add-ons and various accessories arrived in a dedicated box that sat directly on top of the actual chair components.

Inside this accessory box, you can expect to find a hardware kit, armrests, the headrest, and any selected add-on accessories. While the add-ons are completely optional, we decided to test the custom FS wheels, FS 360 rotational armrests, and the ELEMAX cooling, heat & massage system.

The hardware kit comes with everything you need to complete assembly, like an ergonomic hex wrench and bolts that are labeled based on where they go (i.e. armrest bolts, headrest bolts, etc.)

While this made assembly incredibly easy, some may be disappointed to learn that the M9 does not come with a paper or digital manual, and instead uses a YouTube video to demonstrate the chair’s assembly. While many might appreciate the economic paper-saving aspect of this, some may be frustrated having to comb through a video in order to get instructions.

But, that doesn’t take away from the simplicity of assembling the MAVIX M9. While some high-end chairs like Herman Miller may ship fully assembled and ready to go, the M9 comes with the most tedious parts done on your behalf (like the chair tilt mechanism). This makes it one of the easiest chairs to get out of the box and into your gaming space, ready to play in a matter of minutes. In fact, I was able to completely assemble the chair with no outside assistance in about half an hour.

The MAVIX M9 gaming chair is the perfect hybrid between a classy office-style seat and a breathable chair designed for intense gaming. The MAVIX M9 comes with a few color options, like black, white, or a mix of white and black. There’s even an option that opts to use a pop of glacier blue for the lumbar support. Aside from its near-professional appearance, the MAVIX M9 comes loaded with many features that truly make it stand out in an over-saturated market.

If you are someone who does not prefer the look and feel of a mesh gaming chair, the M-Breeze fabrics may be an absolute game changer for you. Laid on top of sturdy A.T.R. woven nylon, the ultra-soft M-Breeze gel polymer fabric helps to bridge the gap between the look and softness of leather fabrics, and the thermal regulation that mesh provides. Plus, the nylon under-layer provides an extra boost of springy, responsive support to keep you comfortable in any sitting position.

The comfort of the MAVIX’s M9 seat cushion is seriously next level. Setting itself apart from other high-end options on the market, the MAVIX M9 cushion utilizes a contoured cooling gel memory foam seat that feels incredibly luxurious and also helps to make excessive sweating a thing of the past.

The seat itself is also fully adjustable, so you can move the seat forward or back, depending on what feels the most comfortable. Plus, the Dynamic Variable lumbar support can be raised and lowered easily, and even moves with you as you adjust. The MAVIX M9 also fully reclines backwards, up to 127 degrees.

As stated previously, the MAVIX M9 features optional upgrades when you buy the chair on MAVIX’s website. While these optional upgrades may come with add-on costs, they take your investment to the ultimate degree. One such upgrade is the option to go from the stock 4D armrests to FS 360° rotational arms, which costs an additional $131. As their name suggests, the FS 360° rotational arms can move 360 degrees, allowing you to have full control of where your armrest sits. You can even angle these armrests inwards to make a comfortable support space while gaming with a controller.

In addition to the FS 360° rotational arms, users can upgrade their wheels to roller-style FS wheels. Among the add-ons available, this particular upgrade is extremely compelling due to the option of color customization.

While I decided to try royalty purple, users can choose from a selection of vibrant colors to bring a pop of color to their gaming chair. Even better, this upgrade comes at no additional cost to the buyer.
