In its latest post on Terraria‘s Steam page, Re-Logic shared that things are falling in place for 2025 to be “quite the year” for the pixel art-based game. Devs have been hard at work with building and refining the forthcoming additions set to arrive with Terraria‘s highly anticipated 1.4.5 update. The indie studio revealed that there’s still one “ideation session” remaining before things “lock in” for the forthcoming major update, which is expected to arrive later this year. Moreover, the post contained a couple of GIFs, possibly hinting at a future addition to the game. The first of these GIFs shows the player character capturing an Amethyst Bunny, whereas the second shows them consuming Rock Candy, which is apparently made out of “random critters made of stone and gems.”

In addition to the forthcoming 1.4.5 update, Re-Logic talked about the likelihood of crossplay between consoles and mobile platforms being enabled in Terraria in the near future. It announced that its partner, DR Studios, could launch Terarria crossplay support across different systems in 2025, saying that it was “hopeful” but that there are still “no promises.” Currently, the highly successful game only offers crossplay between Android and iOS devices.
While the next big update may definitely be what the fans want to see the most, there are other exciting things coming for Terraria players in 2025 as well. One of these things is the previously announced Terraria–Palworld collaboration, which kicked off in December 2024 and is set to unfold throughout the rest of this year, offering players of both games something to look forward to.
