Take-Two Interactive Boss Hypes Up GTA 6 in New Interview
Summary
- Take-Two CEO hypes Grand Theft Auto 6 as “breathtaking” and “worth waiting for.”
- Fans grow anxious for second trailer amid concerns of delay due to Rockstar’s silence.
- Grand Theft Auto 6’s one and only trailer was released in December 2023.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has referred to Grand Theft Auto 6 as “breathtaking” and said the highly-anticipated sequel is “worth waiting for” in a brand-new interview. Take-Two Interactive is the parent company of Rockstar Games, the developer and publisher of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is due to launch in Fall 2025 but has had no major piece of news surrounding it since December 2023 when the game’s one and only trailer was released to the public.
While fans are still patiently waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6‘s second trailer, there have been some tidbits of information surrounding the title thrown around in recent days. Earlier this week, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, who previously leaked the game’s first trailer announcement, said he would be “shocked” if the title made its scheduled Fall 2025 release window, mainly due to Rockstar delaying many of its previous titles, including Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. The journalist also revealed that Grand Theft Auto 6‘s lack of a concrete release date is causing other publishers to consider delaying their titles into 2026, due to the sheer magnitude of Rockstar’s next game.

Take-Two Boss Discusses GTA 6
But when it comes to official details, both Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have been extremely quiet about Grand Theft Auto 6. However, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, was recently interviewed by YouTuber Conner Mather (spotted by RockstarIntel) and hyped up Grand Theft Auto 6. When asked by Mather to sum up Grand Theft Auto 6 in just a few words, Zelnick said that the title is “extraordinary” and will be “worth waiting for.” Later in the interview, the CEO also described the upcoming Rockstar game as “breathtaking.”
While Rockstar itself has remained near-silent on its upcoming title ever since dropping its first trailer over a year ago, a developer from the studio recently accepted an award on Rockstar’s behalf and said that the team is doing mind-blowing things with Grand Theft Auto 6. When coupled with Zelnick’s recent comments about the upcoming release, there’s no denying that Grand Theft Auto 6 has a lot of pressure on it to perform. But given Rockstar’s track record with smash hits like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, the next Grand Theft Auto game is almost deadset to be a smash hit when it releases next year.
However, fans are beginning to grow concerned that a delay could be imminent, mainly due to the overwhelming silence from Rockstar. The community is growing increasingly eager to see more from the title, with wild moon theories for Grand Theft Auto 6‘s second trailer even taking over the internet. Despite the silence, fans still believe Rockstar is teasing Grand Theft Auto 6 in GTA Online, with the latest update including a notable easter egg for 2002’s Vice City, which will also be the location for the upcoming installment.
