The second season, titled Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-, is slated to debut in January 2025 (likely in early January, but the date has not been announced yet).
The movie is 120 minutes long (that’s two hours). It might seem lengthy, but let’s remember it not only recaps 12 episodes, but also previews two more, so there’s not that much time if we think about how much action the movie has to deliver. Fans can watch it subbed or dubbed at the cinema.

Solo Leveling’s Season One Finale, Explained
After the conclusion of Solo Leveling’s first season, Sung Jin Woo has evolved into a confident and capable fighter, unlocking an insane new power.
Anyway, Sony Pictures reported that the movie earned around US$2.4 millionin its opening weekend, only in the U.S. It is slightly more than The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim earned at its premiere weekend in several countries (around US$2 million). However, the new Lord of the Rings movie will only premiere in the U.S. on December 13, so this number does not include the American public (and it’s possible the public was bigger than Solo Leveling). According to ANN, Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- ranked 7th place at the weekend box office.
What’s Coming Next For Solo Leveling
Second Season Keeps The Main Staff
This compilation movie serves as preparation for the second season, which will debut in January on Crunchyroll. It features the same main staff as the previous episodes, so fans are expecting at least the same level of animation. Shunsuke Nakashige delivered a lot in the first season, and this was his first time directing such a big hit. Noboru Kimura (AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline) is once again in charge of the scripts.
Other returning staff include Hiroyuki Sawano, the genius behind the musical score of several anime hits, such as Blue Exorcist, The Seven Deadly Sins, 86: EIGHTY SIX. He also composed the soundtrack of Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Looking ahead, it seems likely they will confirm the third season right after season two finishes broadcasting.
