Quick Links
Table of Contents
There are four Prototype parts in Remnant 2‘s The Dark Horizon DLC, and they are connected to an optional quest that centers around repairing a robot. While players are likely to find some of these parts while exploring N’Erud, they may need some help tracking down all four. This walkthrough is here to offer that help, and fans who follow the steps that are below should have no trouble completing the Prototype parts quest in Remnant 2.
Remnant 2: Prototype Parts Locations
The first step toward completing this quest is finding all four Prototype parts, and their locations are as follows:
Prototype Head
Players can find the Prototype Head near the beginning of the Agronomy Sector, the first map in The Dark Horizon. More specifically, the part is on the ground just past the Quiescent Overlook checkpoint, which fans of third-person shooters will activate shortly after reaching the Agronomy Sector.
Prototype Arm
The Prototype Arm is also in the Agronomy Sector, and here is how to reach it:
- Start at the Quiescent Overlook checkpoint.
- Follow the path forward and to the left to reach a Glider, and use it to cross the gap.
- Continue forward to reach a second Glider, use it to follow the poison water, and enter the air current at the end.
- Turn right, continue forward, and enter a second air current to reach a checkpoint.
- Stick to the right on the path beyond the checkpoint to reach a third Glider.
- Glide forward to reach an opening that is illuminated with red light.
- The Prototype Arm is on the ground just beyond that opening.
Prototype Claw
Players should now travel to the Withering Necropolis, the second map along The Dark Horizon’s critical path. While fans are guaranteed to visit this map while working to complete the DLC, this guide to unlocking the Warden archetype in Remnant 2 will help players who are struggling to find the entrance to the Withering Necropolis.
After reaching the Withering Necropolis, players should activate the map’s first checkpoint (Waylaid Conservatory) and follow these steps:
- Stick to the left on the path beyond the checkpoint to reach a Glider.
- Glide slightly left, and descend onto the dilapidated bridge.
- Follow the path forward.
- The Prototype Claw is near the left wall at the end of the path.
Prototype Memory Core
The Prototype Memory Core is also in the Withering Necropolis, and here is a route that Remnant 2 players can use to find it:
- Start at the Prototype Claw’s location.
- Turn around, and follow the path to the other side of the bridge.
- Look left while following the path. There is an illuminated object on that side, and there is a Glider near it.
- Glide down and to the right to reach a platform with another Glider station.
- Follow the path beyond that station to reach a dead end, and collect the Prototype Memory Core.
Remnant 2: How to Repair the Robot
With all four Prototype parts in hand, players need to take them to the incomplete robot. This Remnant 2 NPC can be found in the Agronomy Sector, and there are several routes that lead to it. Here is one such route:
- Start at the Prototype Memory Core’s location.
- Backtrack to the Glider, and glide forward and to the left, using air currents to maintain elevation.
- Pass over the dilapidated bridge, and continue forward to reach an exit that leads to the Agronomy Sector.
- Ride the elevator, and interact with the terminal to open the large metal door.
- Enter the first room on the right to find the robot.
Players can now interact with the robot, and give it the four Prototype parts. However, Soulslike fans should make a choice before handing over the items. Specifically, they should decide if they want to fight the robot or take a pacifist approach, and here are the rewards associated with both options:
Fight the Robot
Players who fight the robot will receive the following:
- Shield Alternator Ring (Activating a Mod that costs 100 Mod Power or greater, generates a SHIELD for 20% of Max Health. Lasts 15s. Cannot stack with itself.)
- Charged Wounds Mutator (Increases this weapon’s Fire Rate and Reload Speed by 2.5% per OVERLOADED entity within 15m. Max 5 stacks. Level 10: This weapon’s Ranged Weakspot and Ranged Critical Hits apply OVERLOADED, dealing 75 SHOCK damage over 10s.)
Do Not Fight the Robot
Players who do not fight the robot will receive the following:
- Spirit Alternator Ring (Incoming SHIELD grants 150% of the SHIELD generated as Mod Power.)
- B.O.T. Achievement
If the player decides that they want to fight the robot, they can simply give it the four Prototype parts without taking any further actions. If the player decides that they want to skip fighting the robot, they should take these actions and then hand over the parts:
- Locate the Prototype Memory Core in the Quest section of Inventory.
- Inspect the Protype Memory Core.
- Rotate the Prototype Memory Core to reveal a button on its top.
- Interact with the button to cause the Prototype Memory Core to display a blue symbol.
