Remnant 2: How to Get Redeemer Handgun (Spark's Quest)
Quick Links
Table of Contents
Spark is a robot NPC you can encounter during Remnant 2‘s The Dark Horizon DLC. When first meeting Spark, it thinks you want to dismantle it. However, the conversation soon turns to how you can help Spark return to Earth. It’s also a mutually beneficial course of action, as once Spark joins Ward 13 as a vendor, it gives you an Alloy Extractor to obtain and give Spark Alien Alloys in return for some neat rewards, including the Redeemer Handgun. Of course, Spark only offers a handful of instructions with most of its inventory locked, so you might be curious to know how to get the Redeemer Handgun and how to complete Spark’s questline in Remnant 2‘s The Dark Horizon DLC.
You might also struggle with where to find Spark, as a bot with a few different spawn locations. On top of all that, there are also a few steps to follow before you can get Spark to return to Earth, plus a lengthy grind to get every item you need to unlock the Redeemer Handgun, a unique weapon that fires World Stone Slugs at enemies and sends them to another realm.
How To Start Spark’s Quest In Remnant 2 The Dark Horizon DLC
To find Spark in Remnant 2, there are three possible Spark spawn locations where it can appear in the Withered Necropolis, as listed below and pictured on the maps above:
- Near the stairs below the Glider not far from where the Gardener stands near the Waylaid Conservatory World Stone.
- In the corridor opposite the room where you pick up Remnant 2′s Nanoplated Armor Set.
- By the locked door in the clearing ahead of where you find the Nanoplated Armor Set.
If you can’t find Spark, try checking all three areas. Once you find Spark, talk to it and choose the dialogue options where you promise to defeat ‘the voice.’ This refers to The Dark Horizon DLC’s final boss, the ominous AI presence called Allepsis-Taura that you can find at the top of the tower in the X map area. Before Spark can safely return to Earth, you must first beat Allepsis-Taura. Once defeated, return to Spark, who should be at one of his usual three spawn locations, and choose the ‘I defeated the voice’ dialogue option, telling Spark it can now return to Earth. When you next use a World Stone to return to Ward 13, Spark is located opposite the firing range as a new vendor.
How To Complete Spark’s Questline And Get The Redeemer Handgun In Remnant 2
When you talk to Spark in Ward 13, it will give you the Alloy Extractor, a device that lets you collect Alien Alloys as a possible loot drop from killing enemies across Remnant 2‘s worlds. It turns out Spark needs these Alien Alloys to research new items and unlock his vendor inventory, so it’s time to get collecting. There are also different Alien Alloys that you get from defeating enemies on different worlds by re-rolling your Adventure to travel to them:
- Alien Alloys – Found on N’Erud
- Ancient Alloy – From Yaesha
- Mythril Alloy – From Losomn
If you collect enough of the required Alloys from these worlds, consumable items in Spark’s menu start to unlock, like Light Extract. When defeating enemies, you’ll know if they’ve dropped an Alloy by their purple map marker, which distinguishes them from the other usual loot drops. Of course, these are rare spawns, so it’s a bit of a grind to get lots of them.
Of course, getting hold of the Redeemer Hand Gun is not that simple, as Spark also requires nine quest items in addition to numerous different Alien Alloys to enable you to unlock six Rings and three Amulets from the store. You might also need to interact with some quest items in viewing mode to reveal them, like Kolket’s Key. Once you’ve unlocked and purchased every Ring and Amulet from Spark’s store, you’ll unlock the Redeemer Handgun as the final reward. To do this, the table below details what quest items you need to get, how many Alloys you need, and where you can find all the relevant materials:
