Micah Bell’s Vengeance-Seeking Double-Action Revolvers
Black Revolvers with a Red Grip and an Ominous Warning Etched Into the Barrel
- Gun of Choice: Double-Action Revolvers
- Can it be obtained in-game? Yes.
There are multiple reasons why Micah Bell is the most hated person in the Van der Linde gang, but it’s best to save all that bile for another conversation. While players don’t have to like or respect Micah, they need to acknowledge that he’s a legendary gunslinger with a draw on the revolver that rivals Arthur Morgan.
To compliment his abilities, Micah dual-wields Double-Action Revolvers, and his own custom guns have engravings that showcase his darker side. The guns are weathered to show how he always uses them, and the red grips along with the black iron guns prove his darker tones, along with the carved writing in the barrel: “Vengeance is hereby mine.”

Dutch Van Der Linde’s Engraved Schofield Revolvers
Clean and Engraved to Show Dutch’s Darker Side and Illusion of Sophistication
- Gun of Choice: Schofield Revolvers
- Can it be obtained in-game? No.
The Schofield Revolver is the best revolver in Red Dead Redemption 2, so it’s no surprise that Dutch Van der Linde carries two of them. Dutch always likes to see himself as the best man in the West, superior to all the others through his sophisticated talk and desires for a better life. The Schofield Revolvers perfectly sum up Dutch as a character in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Every Companion Item Request (& Where To Find Them)
Locating requested items for your fellow gang members in Red Dead Redemption 2 can be tricky, so here is a guide to every task they set you.
Dutch views himself as better than he is, and by using the Schofield Revolvers, he’s convincing others of his status. Even the gold engravings on the weapons tell a story of how he’s of a better class, but the black colors with gold engravings present a darkness within him that wealthy gold etchings are slowly consuming.

Uncle’s Lazy Schofield Revolver
A Standard Revolver with a Brass Handle Shows a Man Who Prefers Sleeping Over Shooting
- Gun of Choice: Schofield Revolver
- Can it be obtained in-game? No.
Not much is known about Uncle, other than that he’s lazy and uses lumbago as an ever-lasting excuse for why he doesn’t do anything other than sleep and drink the camp’s whiskey. Despite calling himself the one-shot kid (to which we still don’t even know what that means), Uncle isn’t seen with an iron in his hand, and it begs the question of how or why he has something so powerful as a Schofield Revolver.
Uncle’s Schofield Revolver doesn’t see much action, and its brass frame doesn’t really provide much insight into his character other than the fact that it seems old and rusted, much like Uncle, a character whose own name isn’t even known.
7
Bill Williamson’s Unkempt Schofield Revolver
A Dirty Dullard With a Dirty Revolver
- Gun of Choice: Schofield Revolver
- Can it be obtained in-game? No.
Bill Williamson is a disgraced soldier, dishonorably discharged from the military years ago. After his anger issues and frustrations with his life consumed him, Bill fell into the Van der Linde gang, where his affinity with explosions is his strong suit. As such, Bill is rarely seen wielding his revolver, but it does have a distinct style, perhaps also emulating Dutch Van der Linde with the fact he too uses a Schofield Revolver.
Bill’s Schofield Revolver represents his character as a whole. Uncaring, forgetful, and pretty aggressive. It’s a powerful weapon, but its weathered state shows that Bill doesn’t exactly take care of the weapon that’s supposed to be his lifeline, much like his unkept beard and clothes show how he barely takes care of himself.
6
Javier Escuella’s Stylish Double-Action Revolver
Stylistic Vain, and Deadly, Just Like the Owner
- Gun of Choice: Double-Action Revolver
- Can it be obtained in-game? No.
A man committed to Dutch’s ideals, Javier follows the gang through America, considering he cannot return to Mexico due to his revolutionist ideals and killings. In America, Javier uses the Double-Action Revolver, which comes with its own unique silver-plated design and black etched engravings that run around the cylinder and the barrel.

As the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur has made some powerful statements that resonate with players.
Javier’s clean and silver gun represents his vanity, and how he’s proud of who he is. Whether it’s bragging about his crimes in Mexico, or showcasing a darker side in the black etchings of his corrupting Double-Action Revolver, Javier is a man to watch for the wrong reasons.

Hosea Matthews’ Pearl Grip Cattleman Revolvers
Well-Worn Revolvers That Are Past Their Prime
- Gun of Choice: Cattleman Revolvers
- Can it be obtained in-game? No.
There’s really nothing special about Hosea’s Cattleman Revolvers, and they’re more of a hip decoration than anything else. Hosea isn’t the fighter of the gang and prefers to steal through sleight of hand and through schemes that are more reliant on scams and his mind than the iron on his hip. Now, that doesn’t mean he won’t get his hands dirty if he has to.
Hosea’s Cattleman Revolvers are a product of how he views himself and this old life he leads. The only bit of personality on them is the bone grips, but the guns themselves are entirely rusted and worn as if he doesn’t clean them because he’s not in it for the fight anymore.
4
Charles Smith’s Sawed-Off Shotgun
A Unique and Viscious Gun That Proves Charles Isn’t the Man to Mess With
- Gun of Choice: Sawed-Off Shotgun
- Can it be obtained in-game? No.
In many ways, Charles isn’t like the other members of the Van der Linde gang. He’s less of a scoundrel and an outlaw, and his heritage in the 19th century as the son of an African American and a Native American makes him a hot topic for the time. Yet, even with all the rage he has about how others perceive his race, he remains a calm and calculated man, as well as a stealthy tracker and hunter.
Yet, the same can’t be said for his weapon of choice. Charles elects to not use a revolver like everyone else in the gang, and instead, Charles uses a custom Sawed-Off Shotgun. It’s all black, with a white varnish on the grip. A visually distinct weapon that represents Charles’s personality well: Mannered and calm, but loud and violent should the situation call for it.
3
Sadie Adler’s Bounty-Hunting Cattleman Revolver
The Personalized and Expensive Revolvers of a Woman Who Knows How to Hunt Men
- Gun of Choice: Cattleman Revolvers
- Can it be obtained in-game? No.
As a widow who lost her husband to the O’Driscoll boys, Sadie Adler was filled with grief and an unrelenting rage, one that would blossom into her new life as a bounty hunter. As someone who hunts and kills people for money, Sadie needed a gun befitting of her new lifestyle, and a gun that would showcase how her talents would pay off in a luxurious weapon.
As such, Sadie Adler wields a Cattleman Revolver, which features its own silver plating finish, along with a light bone grip. The varnish of Sadie’s weapon showcases her elegant status, and the light colors help to represent her good honor standings.
2
Arthur Morgan’s Not-So-Special Cattleman Revolver
A Standard Revolver for a Man Who Sees Himself As Standard and Simple
- Gun of Choice: Cattleman Revolver
- Can it be obtained in-game? Yes.
The protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2 needs no introduction, as Arthur Morgan is legendary in his own right. Yet, despite his status as an outlaw with an unkillable streak, Arthur doesn’t have his own signature revolver to call his own, and players will instead make their own custom revolver. Failing to do so just means Arthur’s signature weapon is the standard Cattleman Revolver.
While all of Arthur’s stuff was lost back in Blackwater after the botched heist at the beginning of Chapter 1, Arthur’s reliance on whatever he has proves that he isn’t materialistic, and his weapon is a reflection of how he views himself as not-so-important, and fairly worthless in the grand scheme of things.
1
John Marston’s Well-Worn Cattleman Revolver
A Revolver to Represent the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly in John Marston
- Gun of Choice: Cattleman Revolver
- Can it be obtained in-game? Yes.
John Marston also heads for the standard Cattleman Revolver, a weapon that’s the most common in the Old West, but one that few gunslingers master as their weapon of choice. It goes to show that John isn’t exactly the best gunslinger in the Van der Linde gang, as Micah and Arthur hold that competing spot.
However, John’s Cattleman Revolver does tell a story in its colors, as it’s weathered to indicate its used condition, and perhaps the lack of care shows how John cares for his wife and son, but not necessarily for himself. The black iron represents John’s misdeeds, whereas the bone grip, pale and of light, shows that a good man can hold this tool of death if he so chooses.
