A Pokemon fan has recently drawn a set of nine weapons inspired by the Gen 5 starters and their evolutions. Pokemon fan art comes in many different types, including alternative and human forms for all kinds of critters, but turning Pokemon into weapons is a pretty distinct way to reimagine popular monsters.
The fifth generation of Pokemon games is set in the region of Unova, and it was pretty controversial because it didn’t allow players to capture beasts from previous generations before the post-game of Pokemon Black and White. The generation came with three starters: Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott, following the classic Grass, Fire, and Water-type combination. Later, Snivy could evolve into Servine at Level 17, and Serperior starting at Level 36. At the same levels, Tepig would become Pignite and Emboar, while Oshawott could turn into Dewott and Samurott.

Now, a prolific Pokemon fan artist called KosukeSukeP has turned all the creatures in the Gen 5 starter trio into weapons, amazing the community on r/Pokemon and obtaining over 4,300 upvotes. In these artworks, each creature was turned into one weapon with the same colors as the base Pokemon and a design inspired by their types. Snivy was turned into a green sword with a distinctive red jewel encrusted on it that later evolved into a whip. Tepig and its evolutions, on the other hand, became increasingly large orange hammers that resembled different designs such as a small pig, a fat bird, or a treasure chest. Finally, the Water-type Oshawott and its later forms became a complete set of blue and white katanas.
Unova Starters as Weapons Pokemon Fan Art
This is not the first time that KosukeSukeP designed amazing weapons inspired by Pokemon. The fan has done similar works inspired by different creatures before, such as Xatu, Lunatone, Onix, Garchomp, and several others.
Despite how controversial Gen 5 was during its release, the generation has its share of fans, and it has not been forgotten by fan artists. Earlier this year, for example, a fan designed amazing Paradox forms for the Unova starters, creating both normal and shiny versions for each critter. The Paradox form of Serperior was the Winged Monarch, a huge flying snake with several spikes over its body. Emboar became Scorching Fangs, a mammoth-inspired Fire-type creature, while Samurott was turned into the Piercing Titan, resembling an ancient blue shark. Hopefully, other fans will continue to share amazing alternative takes on Gen 5 critters, amazing fans of this generation, and of the franchise as a whole.
