- One player created a cute wood carving of Psyduck as a gift for a friend, gaining many upvotes on Reddit.
An artistic Pokemon fan recently carved a cute Psyduck out of wood as a gift for a friend. As one of the original 151 creatures introduced in Pokemon Red and Blue, Psyduck was already fairly iconic and popular among old-school Pokemon players, but the duck’s supporting roles in tie-in Pokemon media like the Pokemon anime and last year’s Pokemon Concierge have helped cement it as one of the most famous Generation 1 Water-types thanks to its comical and sympathetic antics.
Fans of all ages have paid tribute to Psyduck through artwork and other projects over the years, ranging from Psyduck-themed birthday cakes and ashtrays to crochet dolls and Renaissance-style paintings. Some players have even come up with inspired alternate forms for Psyduck, including a platypus-like Convergent design and a Psychic-type regional evolution line. Psyduck has also seen its share of official merchandise, such as life-sized plush dolls, artesian teapots, and even a dancing toy that was given away at KFCs in China.

Canceled Pokemon Party Game Leaked
A leaker reveals information about a canceled Pokemon game, which has been uncovered as part of the major leak that Game Freak suffered recently.
Reddit user LunarLegacy23 recently made an impressive wood carving of Psyduck, which they later shared on several subreddits including r/pokemon. This cute, hand-carved Psyduck doll sees the Duck Pokemon holding its bill, with a pair of stars planted on its head like a pair of antennae. LunarLegacy23 says that they later gave this Psyduck carving to a friend before asking their fellow Reddit users what they thought of it, with many complimenting them for their work in recreating Psyduck’s cute design and tendency to suffer from psychic power-inducing headaches.
Fan-Made Psyduck Carving Makes for Cute Pokemon Gift
LunarLegacy23 has made plenty of other interesting wood carvings of iconic characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, and Lotso from Toy Story 3. They have recreated plenty of other Pokemon as well, such as the ever-tragic Cubone and the doll-like Mimikyu, both of which feature the same level of detail as their recent Psyduck carving.
As for Psyduck, the ever-unlucky waterfowl was last seen in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as one of the many Pokemon that players could catch and train in the Paldea region. It isn’t clear if Psyduck will appear in the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A, though if it does, its evolved form of Golduck could finally get a Mega Evolution. In the meantime, Psyduck itself has inspired plenty of creative Pokemon fans to craft their own artwork of the headache-prone duck, either for themselves or as a gift to their fellow trainers.
