A PlayStation Plus user has shared their staggering subscription to the premium service from Sony, with their PS Plus membership set to last more than twenty years. PlayStation Plus serves as Sony’s major answer to the rise of Xbox Game Pass, not only offering access to online gameplay but a wealth of games included. Sony features multiple different tiers of membership within PS Plus, from Essentials granting monthly rotating games up to PS Plus Premium giving players access to a library of retro games. Now, one user has set themselves up for a long membership.

The PlayStation Plus library features a wide selection of games from throughout Sony’s history, including both new and old games within the package. The Essentials plan features a rotating lineup of three games every month, constantly switching out games and making new titles available. The Extra and Premium-tier subscriptions offer players access to a sizable permanent library of games, with Premium also granting the “Classics” catalog featuring games from the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP. However, one avid PS Plus user recently took their subscription a step further.

A post shared to the PlayStation Plus subreddit by user On_Reddit_in_Class shows off their staggering subscription to the premium Sony service. The included image shows that the user has stacked multiple 12-month memberships to PlayStation Plus Essentials, with the next payment set to come out of their account in June 2048. The user explains that they upgraded the subscriptions to Premium after paying an additional fee, securing them 24 years of access to the full range of PS Plus perks.

Within the caption for the post, the Reddit user explains their reasoning for securing such a lengthy subscription to PS Plus. The user shares their frustrations with the frequent price hikes that have affected PS Plus, with PS Plus seeing multiple increases in its price point throughout recent years. Many users expressed their own ideas about securing long-term subscriptions to PS Plus, including waiting for annual Black Friday sales on the service. The original poster also pointed out a quirk with upgrading to PS Plus Premium that caps the cost of upgrades at $199 USD.

The staggering subscription to PS Plus comes as new games and content continue to come to the service with each passing month. PlayStation Plus Extra saw ten new games added to its catalog for October, including popular games like Dead Island 2 and Two Point Campus among others. Premium also saw a highly-anticipated addition to its catalog for October, with Capcom cult classic Dino Crisis joining the library after being previously teased. The Reddit user’s 24-year-long PS Plus subscription is sure to garner plenty of value, with a wide array of games available.
