Sometimes, fast food restaurants expand beyond their usual menu and launch unexpected products that somehow relate to their signature dishes. Fans may remember how, in December 2020, KFC released its own gaming console that also served as a chicken warmer. Similarly, in 2022, McDonald’s introduced a gaming chair that could hold a whole meal. More often than not, these unusual products are introduced just in time for certain festivities, like Pizza Hut’s most recent drink.

Pizza Hut has launched its own tomato wine in partnership with Irvine’s Just Beyond Paradise Winery. As its name suggests, the limited-edition wine is not made from grapes but ripened tomatoes. According to the official product description, Pizza Hut’s wine has “hints of basil, oregano, and a whisper of garlic,” to properly accompany a pizza. The tomato wine promises a savory, yet sweet flavor for the price of $25 a bottle and is limited to US territories. However, at the time of writing, Pizza Hut’s tomato wine has already sold out and the chain has not announced a restocking. This isn’t the only unorthodox product that the restaurant has introduced to its customers this season, though. Pizza Hut recently released a PS5 pizza-warming device that lets gamers heat up their pizza using their console.
Pizza Hut Releases Limited-Edition Tomato Wine
In the spirit of the holidays, Pizza Hut’s tomato wine also comes in a gift box set for $60. The set features the wine, a pair of Pizza Hut-themed wine glasses, and a matching wine opener. Unfortunately for pizza lovers, the gift set is also out of stock. On the other hand, aside from its tomato wine, Pizza Hut has also revealed the prompt return of the fan-favorite Triple Treat Box, which is launched every holiday season. Fans might also be interested in Burger King’s first advent calendar if they are looking for food-related gift options.
It’s common practice for fast-food chains to launch unique products to attract new customers. Earlier this month, McDonald’s introduced limited friendship bracelets just in time for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Canada. Restaurants also often collaborate with big brands and celebrities for special promotions. In the past, Pizza Hut has collaborated with Genshin Impact in various countries, while McDonald’s recently partnered up with streamer Kai Cenat to release its Chicken Big Mac. Considering the fast success of the tomato wine, perhaps Pizza Hut could launch similar collaboration items for future holiday seasons.
