Metaphor: ReFantazio- All Party Members and Their Awakenings
Aside from the Protagonist, there will be seven additional party members to join him during his journey who can fight in combat in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Gallica will be there right at the beginning of the game, but she won’t be able to participate in battle to the same degree as the other party members.
Each party member will join on set days during story-related events, and here we’ll let you know exactly when that happens. Some later party members may be a bit of a surprise, so reading this entire list may spoil some aspects of the game.

***** This article contains slight spoilers for who joins your party in Metaphor: ReFantazio *****
Each party member will awaken to their own Archetype, and once they awaken to that Archetype it can be used by any other party member. During the beginning of the game, you’ll have a couple of party members join who can’t be controlled right away, but that won’t be the case for later party members who awaken to their Archetype right before they join you in combat for the first time.
Storhl – Warrior
Strohl is the first party member to join you though he won’t awaken right away. He’ll join the protagonist on 6/5 during the events of the Border Fort, but won’t awaken to his Archetype until the next day in the Nord Mines on 6/6. Until he awakens, he will be an AI-controlled party member.
Grius
Grius will join that party after the events of the Border Fort but won’t participate in battle until the next day, 6/6. After Strohl awakens, you’ll be able to summon an Archetype on Grius and make him a regular party member, though he won’t have an awakening like other party members.
Hulkenberg – Knight
Hulkenberg will start interacting with the party on 6/10, though she won’t awaken to her Archetype and fully join the party until the boss fight on the next day, 6/11.
Heismay – Thief
Heismay will be the first target of your free time in Martira, though this section is mostly on-rails. On 7/4 you’ll enter the main dungeon of this town and see Heismay’s awakening, followed by him joining the party.
Junah – Masked Dancer
Juanh is another character who you’ll see throughout the game, but won’t be joining your party until her awakening on 8/13.
Eupha – Summoner
Eupha is the one party member where there is more flexibility in when she joins your party. During your free time in Viraga Island, between 8/19-9/4, you’ll be able to complete the Dragon Temple Dungeon. Whatever day you complete the Dragon Temple dungeon, Eupha will join the party for the final boss, though her Bond can only be started after the deadline passes.
Basilio – Berserker
Basilio will awaken and join the party during the events of Saint’s Day, on 9/11, though you won’t be able to actually use him in combat or anything until the following day if you choose to do so.
