After a long story segment, players can finally explore Port Brilehaven and breathe in the fresh sea breeze. There are quite a few side quests and bounties to pick up. In addition, there is also a missable book, The Future of Magic, that can be acquired after talking to Julian at the Angler’s Inn Square.

Among the various side quests, there is the Soldier’s Solace quest, which unlocks a new area to explore and a somewhat troublesome boss to beat. This guide includes information on how to find all the Dragonthistle Berries and defeat Kokasados in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – Best Early Game Armour

In Angler’s Inn Square near The Spider’s Den is the Exhausted Woman who needs to make some medicine ,but she is missing a key ingredient: Dragonthistle Berry. This can be acquired in the Gracia Forest northwest of Port Brilehaven. Go to the Gauntlet Runner and chart a court.

Combining this quest with the ”

Deeds and Diversions
” side quest
is best because you can go to the
Forsaken Tower
from Gracia Forest utilizing the days you have free.

Dragonthistle Berry Locations In Gracia Forest

Upon reaching the Forest, the seven Dragonthistle Berries you need will be marked on your map (shown in the image above). The path is quite linear, so go along the route, picking up any items you find along the way (and a Golden Beetle near the northeast part of the Forest). Once you collect all the berries, a fight with Kokasados will begin.

Kokasados is a level 35 boss who deals Wind damage to the whole party and has an attack that can inflict the Poison status effect. The boss also Blocks Wind damage, so it is best not to use it and waste your turn on the boss. Kokasados is weak against Physical Pierce attacks, making the Gunner Archetype an excellent asset for this fight. When talking to NPCs around the Gracia Forest, you will notice them saying it is better to fight the boss from afar. Considering this, you should change the formation and place all of your party members in the Back Row.

Keep using Pierce Attacks on every party member to get almost eight turns before the boss gets its turn to attack. You must finish the fight quickly as the boss has an attack that can one-shot one of your party members. The boss performs this attack after quite some time, so you will have enough turns to deal with it. If this attack is imminent, you must cast Rakukaja or Marakukaja, which are skills that increase defense.

After defeating the boss, you can return to the Exhausted Woman and give her the berries. After your conversation with her, the quest will be completed, rewarding you with Dragonblood Sap and 30,000 Reeve (45,000 if you have increased Catherina‘s bond)
