Marvel Snap Season Missions Are Not Working
Key Takeaways
- Marvel Snap’s latest season, War of the Nine Realms, has issues with mission challenges and rewards.
- Players have noticed mission challenges giving out fewer rewards than expected, likely affecting those who purchase the Premium Season Pass.
- Second Dinner is working on fixing the XP and other problems in the current Marvel Snap season to maintain player engagement.
The latest Marvel Snap seasonal missions are not working as intended, and developer Second Dinner is working to fix them. Like many mobile games, each Marvel Snap season offers its own unique rewards, but this season is off to a problematic start.
Marvel Snap was released in 2022 and has gained an impressive following since then. The mobile game features countless collectible cards based on Marvel heroes and villains, which are used in strategic, round-based battles. Since its release, Marvel Snap has seen massive success, with over 23 million downloads, and earning an average of $8-9 million each month in 2023 alone. With this success, Second Dinner continues to update the game with new cards, activities, and events. The latest season of the game has been released with some problems that haven’t gone unnoticed by the community.

Marvel Snap has a proven track record in the mobile card game space, and Pokemon TCG Pocket should be paying attention to its example.
ComicBook recently confirmed that Marvel Snap‘s current season, War of the Nine Realms, has some issues with its missions. The War of the Nine Realms season began on November 5, but it didn’t take long for players to highlight mission challenges and rewards that seemed abnormal. This has been verified by Community Manager Griffin Bennet in the game’s Discord who stated that the studio is “working on a fix,” and that the missions “are not correct.” Monthly content in prior Marvel Snap seasons would reward players with 9,000 XP, but War of the Nine Realms only offers 8,000. As XP is among the problems in the current season, an update could increase XP gains for completing missions.
These Marvel Snap Missions Aren’t Working as Intended
While it may be a few days before a fix is issued, one fan has noticed that requirements and rewards for challenges seem to be mismatched. Because some players spend $9.99 on the Marvel Snap Premium Season Pass, the issue with War of the Nine Realms likely affects paying customers. Completing this Season Pass also rewards players with special Andrea Guardino art variant cards. Some of the other cards featured in War of the Ninte Realms include Frigga, Malekith, and Surtr. While there may still be time for players to unlock all of these, some may not be able to due to the rocky start of the season.
As some gamers await a solution to the seasonal issues, the game could see a decrease in this month’s active players. Because Second Dinner continues to update Marvel Snap, future seasonal rewards may offset disparities that players are currently encountering. The studio may also extend the duration of War of the Nine Realms to allow the community enough time to burn through the missions to unlock corresponding rewards.
