Jackbox Reveals New Collection of Party Games
Key Takeaways
- The Jackbox Survey Scramble is launching in late October for $9.99.
- The game will have 4 modes: Hilo, Speed, Squares, Bounce.
- A demo will be available as part of Steam Next Fest from October 14 to October 21.
Jackbox Games has given fans their first-ever look at The Jackbox Survey Scramble. Jackbox Games tends to have one release every year, though 2024 has been an exception to the rule.
Earlier this summer, Jackbox Games released The Jackbox Mega Picker, which is a hugely convenient release that lets players pick-and-choose the games from the various Jackbox Party Pack collections that they already own without having to open each individual collection. Then, it launched The Jackbox Naughty Pack, a collection of three party games with more adult language, humor, and themes than the typical Jackbox Party Pack games. Fans would have been forgiven if they assumed that those two releases would be all for Jackbox Games in 2024, but as it so happens, yet another title is waiting in the wings.
Now Jackbox Games has officially revealed The Jackbox Survey Scramble, a new collection of games that will be released at some point in late October for $9.99. The Jackbox Survey Scramble will launch for all the usual platforms, meaning fans can try it out across PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV devices. Players will be able to customize their game through content filters, enjoy a constantly-updated experience, and check out four different game modes when The Jackbox Survey Scramble releases next month.
Jackbox Survey Scramble Games List
- Hilo
- Speed
- Squares
- Bounce
The four game modes available in The Jackbox Survey Scramble are Hilo, Speed, Squares, and Bounce. Hilo challenges players to guess the most and least popular answers, Speed is about “rapid fire game rounds,” while Squares has players organizing choices in order of popularity. Bounce will let players “scale a variety of answers from most-to-least popular” with the “chance to intercept” opponents’ answers. It’s an intriguing concept, and one that Jackbox has explored with some of the party games in its previous Party Packs. For example, Jackbox Party Pack 8‘s The Poll Mine was a survey-based game, though it only took into account the opinions of those actively playing the game at that time.
Where The Jackbox Survey Scramble differs is that it will take into account the opinions of everyone playing, which should ensure that the game has a great deal of replay value. Its constantly-updating nature means The Jackbox Survey Scramble should have more longevity than other games released by the company, though its fun factor has yet to be proven. At the very least, it sounds like The Jackbox Survey Scramble will be great for fans of game shows like Family Feud.
Luckily, fans don’t have to wait until The Jackbox Survey Scramble‘s release date to find out if the game lives up to the expectations set by the previous Jackbox Games titles. It’s been confirmed that The Jackbox Survey Scramble will be playable during the Steam Next Fest event, which ranges from October 14 to October 21, with the Hilo and Square modes available in the demo.
