Hunter x Hunterfinally returned with chapter 401 of the manga last week, and with the release of that first chapter in two years, fans can’t help but get excited for what’s to come. With the manga returning with a sensational chapter last week, fans were treated to some very intriguing bits of information that will change the Succession War forever. Now, fans are eagerly waiting for Hunter X Hunter chapter 402.

A Contract Made With Longhi’s Nen Ability

In Hunter x Hunter 401, the story stopped with Kurapika agreeing on the terms put forward by Longhi, which entailed Prince Woble and Prince Tubeppa going into an alliance. This alliance is to be renewed once per week at the same location. If Kurapika goes through with what was agreed, Longhi will make a special contract with him due to which he will be able to access her Nen ability once. If he fails, however, and harms Prince Tubeppa or any of her guards, then this could be a huge issue, as it will force Kurapika into Zetsu, a state that will not allow him to use his Nen powers.

It’s possible in the upcoming Hunter X Hunter chapter 402, fans will get to see more of Prince Tubeppa, as not much is known about her so far into the story. Tubeppa has an interesting Nen beast that can produce various drugs and chemicals, taking after her scientific nature. This ability could definitely come into play soon.

Tubeppa has certainly got a lot of potential to grow as a character, and her fate is going to be a very important plot point. Her contract with Prince Woble is that Beyond’s secret Prince child is found before she withdraws from the Succession War, which, so far, can only be accomplished with her death.

This could be a good opportunity for Kurapika as it gets him close to Prince Tserriednich. Prince Tserriednich is one of Kurapika’s targets as he has in his possession Scarlet Eyes.

In the last panel of chapter 401, Beyond Netero made his long-awaited comeback, and the last time he was seen was quite some time ago. In Hunter x Hunter 401, he asked Kanzai, the Zodiac who is currently guarding him, to arrange a meeting with a certain individual. Who that individual is remains unknown at this point.

Who Beyond is meeting with is hard to guess, as the options are countless, and Beyond can be quite an unpredictable individual. However, it’s important to note that Beyond’s current location is in a cell on Tier 1 of the Black Whale, and this is a location not many people can access. Tier 1 is the most restricted area of the Black Whale, where only people with a certain status can be found. That includes the Kakin royal family, as well as politicians, and even the leaders of the three biggest mafias in the Kakin Empire. There are also many guards in that location.

With that, one can assume that Beyond could probably be meeting one of the Princes, one of his children who are currently acting as bodyguards, or even a member of the Zodiac. It’s not impossible that Beyond would be meeting with his child, who is currently in the Succession Contest as a Prince of the Kakin Empire. Anything is possible right now with Beyond’s character.

As for what Beyond and this individual would be discussing, fans don’t know and it remains a secret. That said, some assumptions can be made here as well. Beyond is currently locked away in a cell, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that this man is currently planning for an escape with whoever he will be talking with. This is more true now than ever before, as Beyond is being built up to be an antagonist during this arc and possibly even the future ones to come.

The colored cover page for Hunter x Hunter chapter 401 was a drawing of none other than Morena Prudo, the head of one of the three biggest mafia families in the Kakin Empire, specifically for her the Heil-Ly family. Her role in the story could be interesting, and she will definitely only get more involved from now on as the Succession War heats up.

While the last chapter did not go over any of the Mafia families and their subordinates, and stuck to focusing on Kurapika and the deal he struck with Longhi, the chapters before that, which were released 2 years ago, heavily focused on the Mafia families, especially the Heil-Ly and Xi-Yu as they had some intense confrontations.

The Hunter x Hunter manga has finally returned with chapter 401. Togashi delivered an info packed chapter that will change the succession war.

Their confrontation will only heat up with Hunter X Hunter chapter 402, especially as they have gotten themselves tangled with the members of the Spider, where currently Nobunaga and his group are hunting down the Heil-Ly hideout.

Hisoka was also brought back into the story a couple of chapters back, and while he isn’t currently involved in the Mafia war, he could very well get involved soon if any members of the Phantom Troupe run into him. This could happen anytime now, even in the next HxH chapter 402.

The Whereabouts of the Phantom Troupe Revealed

Chrollo Will Be A Major Player During This Arc

Fans had recently been following some members of the Phantom Troupe, notably Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan. These three have been working with the Xi-Yu Mafia family. However, the other members haven’t been seen in quite some time, save for when they were seen during the flashback of the Troupe.

It’s definitely likely Togashi will bring the rest back into the story soon now, and with them, their new member Illumi. Most fans will most definitely want to see the return of the leader of the Spider, Chrollo Lucilfer, especially after learning more about him during the recent Phantom Troupe flashback that added a whole new layer to his character.

With Hisoka having finally made his comeback into the story recently, it’s possible there will be a deadly confrontation between him and other members of the Troupe. This could end up being quite troublesome as his power has only grown since his resurrection and could mean the death of more members of the Spider.
