How To Unlock Merida In DDV – Disney Dreamlight Valley
Unlike other characters where you must complete many prerequisites to unlock them as villagers, Merida is quite simple as she only needs one quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The Brave character is the first one you get to meet upon landing in Storybook Vale.
The first step is to unlock the Royal Net tool in Disney Dreamlight Valley, as it’s a crucial tool that will be heavily used in the Storybook Vale. After completing the quest and acquiring the royal tool, players can trigger the next quest to unlock Merida as a villager.

How To Unlock Merida In Disney Dreamlight Valley
After completing the Welcome to the Storybook Vale quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you will trigger A New Chapter quest that unlocks Merida after completing it. Merida’s goal in this mission is to restore the Bind to some of its former glory and make it habitable.
The first thing she asks you to do is to unlock the Bind area, which costs 500 Story Magic. You can collect Story Magic by completing tasks in the Storybook Duties and Storybook Vale. Once the Wall of Ink is removed, speak with Merida in the Bind to find out that she wants you to remove some Inkies and catch some Snippets.
Later on, Goofy and Scrooge McDuck arrive at Storybook Vale and Merida urges you to help them open their shops. To help both characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley, make sure to catch three fish or seafood of any kind and mine 10 gems or minerals from mining rocks. Use Star Coins to unlock the shops in the Bind.
Finally, Merida takes you to a secret room that only Dreamers can open. Head inside to collect the clue left by Aurora and tell Merida about it. To access what is behind the wall in Aurora’s room, interact with the lamp to the left, then use the Royal Net to rotate the wheel, thus activating the water fountains.
The last step is to place Merida’s house foundation and pay 5,000 Star Coins to McDuck to build her house. After that, the A New Chapter quest is complete, and the Brave character becomes available as a villager.
