Speaking of unique heroes and villains, Mantis is one Marvel hero who goes largely unnoticed. This Strategist hero can be an excellent asset for any team and will be the perfect choice to increase damage and heal allies during intense fights. Keeping this in mind, if you want to learn how to play Mantis in Marvel Rivals, read on.
About Mantis in Marvel Rivals
Mantis empowers and heals heroes when they take too much damage. What is interesting about Mantis is that she can empower and heal multiple allies at the same time. As for her ultimate, she can make your entire team invulnerable for a few seconds, allowing them to push your enemies and keep them on their toes.
If you want a healer, there is no better option than Mantis. Unfortunately, while Mantis is a great Strategist, she is easy to dispatch, so you must avoid being out in the open to become prey to the enemy team.

Understanding the Life Orb Mechanic
The most crucial aspect to playing as Mantis is understanding how the Life Orb mechanic works, without which you will be held back from using the hero to her fullest potential. Considering this, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
- You have 4 Life Orbs in total, so you must use them wisely.
- You will get a Life Orb every 3 seconds.
- If you get a critical hit with Mantis’ Life Energy Blast, you will recover a Life Orb immediately.
- Whenever Mantis uses a Life Orb skill, she also gets a weaker form of HP regen, and it will keep refreshing every time you use a Life Orb skill.
Essentially, you will need to manage your supply of Life Orbs wisely. Since Mantis’ heals are tied to Life Orbs, focus on dealing critical hits to maintain a healthy supply. Most importantly, play around your team for the best possible outcome.
How to Play Mantis in Marvel Rivals
- When playing as Mantis, you must play behind your team.
- Only move when you need to heal and buff your allies.
- Use Natural Anger to gain a damage boost and assist your allies in taking down enemy heroes, but only if your allies do not require healing.
- Use Mantis’ ultimate to save yourself or an ally, but do not hesitate to use your other abilities. There is no wrong way or time to use the ultimate, but it is better to save it for team fights that may not be going in your favor.
- Mantis cannot defend herself against heroes like Moon Knight, Hulk, Psylocke, etc., so be ready to retreat. When you are in a tight spot, use Spore Slumber to put the enemy hero to sleep and run for cover.
