How to Get Raindrops in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
In Hello Kitty Island Adventure, there are some materials can only be collected when met with the right weather conditions. When you first begin your Island Adventure playthrough, you’ll notice that it doesn’t rain anywhere on Friendship Island. To change the weather, you’ll need to repair weather machines through their respective quest-line. One type of weather-material that you’ll want to collect are Raindrops. As their name indicates, these only appear when it’s raining, so here’s what you’ll need to do to unlock them.

How to Unlock Rain
Where is the Aquafall Machine
To make it rain on Friendship Island, you’ll need to fix the Aquafall Machine located east of Kelp Maze in Rainbow Reef. Before this can happen, you’ll need to have completed several quests and raised friendship with specific characters. Once you get the quest “A Clue On The Shore,” you’ll be on the right track to bringing rain to Friendship Island.
Here are the quests you need to complete to unlock rain:
- Open the Nature Preserve
- Bring Back the Swing
- Comic Relief
- Fire Up the Volcano
- A Long Awaited Introduction
- Swimming Lessons
- A Clue On The Shore
- Island Stone
Once you’ve completed “Island Stone”, you can start the quest “Rain or Shine” to learn how to manually make it rain. You don’t need to do this in order to collect Raindrops, but if you’re not having any luck with getting rain to trigger in your playthrough, you may want to consider crafting and using a Rain Island Stone.
When it rains, you’ll see a notification at the top of your screen indicating where it’s raining. Rainfall only lasts for 15 minutes in real time. During this, rain-exclusive critters and fish will appear. If you’re not sure when it’s going to rain, you can pause the game and look at the forecast on the left side of the menu.
Where to Find Rainfall Flowers
How to Spawn Rainfall Flowers
Not only will rain-exclusive critters/fish appear, but so will Rainfall Flowers. These are your keys to getting Raindrops. However, you’ll need to have the Watering Can item. The Watering Can crafting plans are received during the “Flower Power” quest, which you get when your friendship level with My Melody is level 14.
To craft the Watering Can, you need the following:
You may have noticed purple flower buds growing on all the islands. Watering these will net you materials, food, or soundtracks. During rain, you’ll see blue flower buds known as Rainfall Flowers. If you use the Watering Can on them, they’ll give you Raindrops.

Fortunately, the Raindrops are only required for one crafting plan, but you’ll need them for the Rain Furniture collection and rain-themed clothing. There isn’t a known way to trigger the type of clothing/furniture that will be in stock. As long as you’ve repaired the Aquafall Machine, the rain apparel will appear in the respective shops:
