pillars of eternity series how long

Obsidian Entertainment has been in the video game industry for a little over 20 years now, and in that time, it’s garnered a reputation for making incredibly ambitious and innovative video games. Though it’s dabbled in a handful of other genres over the years, Obsidian’s bread and butter has always been sprawling RPGs set in rich fantasy, Sci-Fi, or post-apocalyptic worlds. One of the studio’s most acclaimed series is Pillars of Eternity, and though it doesn’t share its name, Avowed will be set in the same fantasy world of Eora.

Set to release on February 18, 2025, Avowed will see fans return to Eora once more, this time from a new gameplay perspective, swapping Pillars of Eternity‘s isometric camera angle for a first/third-person viewpoint. With Avowed being set just a few years after the second Pillars of Eternity entry, it’s expected some fans would want to play through the series to get an understanding of the story so far. But if players want that big picture before Avowed‘s February release, they better start that journey sooner rather than later.
