Honkai: Star Rail Is Giving Away a Free 5-Star Character

Honkai: Star Rail has revealed that players will get a free 5-star character in an upcoming through a selector. The new feature will be available after the release of Version 2.7, which Honkai: Star Rail recently revealed with exciting content to be added to the game in the following weeks.

Prior to the update, players still have time to explore the features of Version 2.6, the biggest being Rappa’s debut in Honkai: Star Rail, adding an Erudition character with a quirky take on being a ninja. Acheron, Aventurine, and Imibibitor Lunae returned to the game’s banners, as well as the additions of the new Light Cones Ninjutsu Inscription: Dazzling Evilbreaker, Ninja Record: Sound Hunt, and Dream’s Montage. The same update brought new Simulated Universes, a map, and more events.

But when Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.7 drops on December 3, players will have a great opportunity to get a free five-star character. Through the Express Gift event, Trailblazers will receive a character selector, and can choose between Bailu, Bronya, Clara, Gepard, Himeko, Welt, and Yanqing. To claim the permanent character selector, all players have to do is log into the game before Version 3.0, which is when the offer ends.

Previously, a Honkai: Star Rail leak had teased that a free 4-star character selector would be given away in Version 2.7, which turned out not to be true. While the Express Gift event might not benefit veteran players, it will be a good push for newcomers to start their journey. Because even though they aren’t the most popular options in the game, they still rank among the best five-star characters in Honkai: Star Rail. Some highlights include Himeko, who has versatility and deals decent area damage, and Bailu, whose healing abilities are a lifesaver in the early stages of the game.

The free five-star character selector won’t be the only addition waiting for players in Version 2.7. The arrival of the Honkai: Star Rail update will add Sunday and Fugue as new five-star characters, with Sunday’s banner becoming available from December 3-25, and the banner featuring Fugue taking its place. HoYoverse will also bring the new Light Cones, A Grounded Ascent (Sunday), and Long Road Leads Home (Fugue), five new events in addition to the Express Gift, a new map (Astral Express Party Car), an update for Divergent Universe: The Human Comedy, and much more.
