Genshin Impact Chart Shows Drastic Sales Difference Between Nahida and Hu Tao

A new Genshin Impact chart has revealed the revenue difference between the two currently featured five-star characters, Nahida and Hu Tao. Genshin Impact‘s double banners are a gacha mechanic that allows players to pull for two different five-star characters at the same time, with a shared four-star lineup.

Every limited banner in Genshin Impact lasts for approximately three weeks, and once it expires, a new set of limited characters becomes available. The game’s updates are divided into two banner cycles, which means that every new version of the game features up to four different five-star units.

Genshin Impact Version 5.1 features two popular five-star characters on its Phase 2 banner: the Dendro Archon Nahida and Liyue’s famous Pyro DPS Hu Tao. A credible stats website called Paimon.moe has revealed the revenue difference between the two currently featured characters. According to the data, Nahida is responsible for over 70% of the total sales, which comes as a surprise considering that Hu Tao is one of the fan-favorite five-star characters in Genshin Impact. One of the main reasons behind Nahida’s sales is probably the fact that she’s an Archon who can fit almost any team composition that requires Dendro application. At the moment, she is widely considered the overall best Dendro character in the game.

Genshin Impact: Should You Pull for Nahida or Hu Tao?

Nahida’s Elemental Burst is very flexible as it provides different effects depending on the elements of Nahida’s teammates. To fully unlock Nahida’s potential in Genshin Impact, players should aim for her second constellation, which significantly enhances the power of certain Dendro elemental reactions. She can even be used as a main DPS, especially if players manage to obtain all six of her constellations. Besides her strength on the battlefield, Nahida also has one of the best story arcs in Genshin Impact.

Compared to Nahida, Hu Tao is a much more niche character who excels at the main DPS role in Genshin Impact. Hu Tao also has a unique playstyle that involves animation cancel mechanics to maximize her damage potential. She benefits from having lower HP, which means players need to adapt their team compositions to include more shielders and fewer healers in the support roles.

There is a chance that Hu Tao’s usage rate will increase in the future as multiple Genshin Impact leaks suggest that HoYoverse will introduce significant changes to elemental reactions. These changes will mostly affect elemental reactions tied to Pyro, Cryo, and Electro, potentially reshaping the Genshin Impact meta.
