During the keynote address of the 2024 Korea FanFest in Seoul, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida shared new screenshots of features coming to Dawntrail soon. The new Final Fantasy 14 features that Yoshida discussed were the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid, Cosmic Exploration, and the Shades’ Triangle adventuring foray.

The news came just weeks after Final Fantasy 14 gave players a first look at Patch 7.1, Crossroads, during the 2024 Tokyo Game Show. Slated to launch in mid-November, the Crossroads content update will continue the main story of Dawntrail, which is expected to fully wrap up in 2025 during Patch 7.3. In addition to story content, Patch 7.1 will also be the first of two major tuning updates for PVP activities, and will give the long-neglected Hall of the Novice a new, intermediate challenge that will teach Final Fantasy 14 players about certain markers, such as stacking signals and tankbuster indicators.

In addition to more main story content and quality-of-life changes coming to Final Fantasy 14 in future patches, Yoshida gave players some new looks at a few planned features. Yoshida’s keynote in Seoul went over some of Dawntrail‘s main features that the Korean version of Final Fantasy 14 will receive on December 3. Yoshida also expressed his hope that the Korean version of Final Fantasy 14 would be updated at the same time as the global client. As his address turned toward the features planned for Dawntrail‘s patch cycle, Yoshida shared some new screenshots that had not been seen before at any FanFest. Starting with the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid series, which will begin in Patch 7.1, Yoshida revealed a notorious monster from Final Fantasy 11 called Fafnir would appear, but did not elaborate if the draconic foe was a boss or not.
