Every Perk in Call of Duty Zombies, Ranked
Perk-a-Colas are integral to Call of Duty Zombies thanks to their unique abilities that can complement the way players experience each of the exciting maps. The best Call of Duty Zombies perks range in usefulness, and while all of them do commit to a special gimmick, there are only some that feature more than once and are worth grabbing every time they are available across all COD Zombies games.
There are some great versatile builds players can craft when picking up their selection of four perks in COD Zombies, but what does every perk do and how do they rank among each other? Playing without perks is a death sentence, and there are some that are such a crutch that they are vital.
This list only contains the perks from Treyarch’s Call of Duty Zombies.
28 Death Perception
Table of Contents
See Zombies Through Walls
Death Perception is pretty underwhelming, as it doesn’t serve players all that well to see zombies and wall-buys through walls since the most efficient players will be training a horde of zombies that doesn’t require them to turn around in surprise that they are being chased.
27 Deadshot Daiquiri
Increase Hip-Fire Accuracy By 35%, Reduce Recoil, Aim Assist Targets the Head
Deadshot Daiquiri started out as a rather disappointing perk due to the fact that it benefits console players only by providing their aim assist with automatic aiming towards the head instead of the body. However, in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, this perk can be upgraded to cause extra headshot damage, but it’s still not essential.
26 Deadshot Dealer
Headshot Aim Assist, Reduced Hip-Fire Spread, Lower Recoil
Like an upgraded Deadshot Daiquiri, Deadshot Dealer is exclusive to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which will provide headshot aim assist, reduce hip-fire spread, and provide lower recoil. It’s an okay perk, but there are far better alternatives, and players can just aim themselves since it’s not like zombies can shoot back.
25 Zombshell
Kill Zombies to Emit a Containment Field That Slows Zombies and Increases Damage Dealt
A random chance to spawn a containment field with killing zombies, Zombshell can be used to slow other zombies and those of them who walk into the containment field will also be more vulnerable to damage. It’s an average perk, and its long recharge just isn’t worth it.
24 Blood Wolf Bite
Summon a Wolf to Help Deal Damage to Zombies
For those seeking companionship and a cute but vicious pet, there’s Blood Wolf Bite. With this perk, players can whistle for a Dire Wolf named Luna, who will spawn in and attack zombies for 45 seconds before disappearing for 5 minutes. It’s not that great and the damage doesn’t change the game in late rounds.
23 Blaze Phase
Crouch to Build a Charge That Sends Players Zooming Forward, Knocking Down Zombies
Blaze Phase is a lot of fun due to the fact that players can crouch and build up a charge, only to stand back up to release this energy in a rapid dash that sees them ignite enemies in their way. It’s fun and fast, but not the most useful in high rounds, as crouching around is a recipe for disaster.
22 Stone Cold Stronghold
Standing Still Grants a Circle With Increased Damage Over Time
Stone Cold Stronghold is for the stubborn players who don’t like to train zombies, and would instead prefer to stand their ground like the classic catwalk days of Der Riese. Stone Cold Stronghold provides a growing circle with increased damage over time to zombies, allowing those who stand strong and as still as a wall with extra damage.
21 Timeslip
Increase Equipment Cooldown Rate, Reduce Trap and Fast Travel Cooldown, Mystery Box & Pack-a-Punch Appears Faster
Timeslip is for the impatient players out there who can’t stand a cooldown. Whether it’s increasing the speed of weapons gained from the Mystery Box or the Pack-a-Punch or the time from fast travel stations and traps, Timeslip will aid in lowering it all, but it’s a tad gimmicky.
20 Electric Burst
Emits an Electric Discharge From Reloading Which is Stronger Based on How Empty the Magazine is
Much like Electric Cherry, Electric Burst will provide an electric shockwave for when players reload their weapons. However, the shockwave damage is increased depending on how much ammo the player has before reloading. This is a fine perk, but relying on an empty magazine just to do some damage is pretty risky.
19 Vulture Aid
See Items Through Walls, Obtain Ammo and Points From Zombies
A perk exclusive to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s Buried map, Vulture Aid had some unique properties that made it a fairly decent perk. Firstly, players could see items and weapons through walls, but more importantly, killed zombies could drop points and ammo to be scavenged, as well as a green odor that could be stood in to make zombies blind to the fact that players are right there.
18 Elemental Pop
Small Chance For a Random Ammo Mod Per Bullet
- Costs: 2,500 – 7,000 Points
In Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies, players could re-Pack-a-Punch their weapon for an elemental mod on their bullets, which at random, would provide an effect to zombies. This could make an ally zombie that attacks other zombies, electrocutes them, or causes fireworks. This returns in Perk form with Elemental Pop, but it’s not the most essential until truly late rounds due to its unpredictability when firing a weapon.
17 Bandolier Bandit
Increased Ammo Reserves
With Bandolier Bandit, players will have access to more ammo in their reserves. While it’s a good perk for those who don’t want to re-spin the Mystery Box or purchase ammo on a wall-buy gun, players will still run out of ammo eventually, as a Max Ammo isn’t assured, so Bandolier Bandit is a tad risky to run.
16 Ethereal Razor
Melee Swipe Multiple Enemies, Melee Lunge Provides More Damage and Restores Health
Ethereal Razor is there for the true melee fans, to those players who just can’t help but to get up close with their zombie targets and give them a good stabbing. It’s something that would make Ultimis Richtofen proud, and the benefit of being able to slash multiple zombies at once, and even heal from a melee lunge, makes it risky, worth it, and fun.
15 Tombstone Soda
Bleed Out and Respawn Next Round With Your Equipment Available as a Power-Up
Tombstone Soda is also an exclusive perk to one specific map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and that map is Green Run’s TranZit. Tombstone Soda allows players to bleed out after entering the downed state, and doing so will see them drop a Power-Up that contains their gear that only they can pick up at the beginning of the next round. The Power-Up isn’t around forever, so players better hurry.
14 Who’s Who
Enter a Revive State and Control a Doppelganger to Revive Yourself or Begin Anew
Who’s Who is an exclusive perk to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s Die Rise map, and it greatly benefits players due to the fact that it allows them to die and revive themselves. When killed, players spawn back in as a doppelganger with all their points but no perks or weapons outside the starting pistol. Players can revive themselves to retain their gear or let themselves bleed out to begin anew.
13 Electric Cherry
Create an Electric Shockwave When Reloading to Damage Zombies
When reloading, players will generate an electric shockwave that can damage and stun zombies. It’s great when trapped, as players can pull off a reload to ensure the zombies are stunned, and by the time players reload, they can finish them off and escape. Yet, it’s rather situational.

12 Speed Cola
Halves Weapon Reload Time & Build Barriers 60% Faster
Speed Cola is a classic, and it will allow players to build barriers quicker and also halves the weapon reload time. This is a great perk, but it’s somewhat obsolete, as players can just wait a few extra seconds to reload their weapon while training zombies instead of wasting a perk slot, even if the jingle is catchy.
11 Mule Kick
Carry Three Weapons Instead of Two
Sometimes it’s better to have three guns instead of two, and that’s where Mule Kick comes in. Admittedly, Mule Kick is mainly for greedy players who want to carry more weapons, and upon dying, that third weapon is lost. Yet, Mule Kick is great for those seeking both Wonder Weapons and another gun for survival.
10 Winter’s Wail
Generate Frost Explosions When Hit to Slow and Freeze Zombies
Much like Widow’s Wine, Winter’s Wail will kick in when players are hit by zombies. Winter’s Wail has two charges and it will slow zombies after they strike at players, causing a frost explosion that can even freeze them in place to allow a quick getaway.
9 Widow’s Wine
Detonates a Spiderweb Grenade When Hit to Slow Zombies, Increases Melee Damage
Widow’s Wine is an extra layer of defense, especially useful for players who do not use grenades, as Widow’s Wine will replace said grenades with spiderwebs. When hit or thrown, the spiderweb will detonate to freeze zombies, allowing players to recover their health without the fear of a charging swarm of undead.
