Elden Ring: 10 Hardest Achievements To Unlock, Ranked
There are many achievements in Elden Ring that have proven too daunting for many players.
While some players like to challenge themselves and do level 1 runs, others like to take their time, build their character from the ground up, and do as much research as possible about the bosses they’re about to face. For those interested, here are some of the oldest bosses in Elden Ring, ranked.
8
Malenia And Miquella
Radagon And Marika’s Twins
- Malenia and Miquella are the offspring of Radagon and Marika
- Malenia is optional
The twins Malenia and Miquella are known for being part of two of the most challenging boss battles in both the base game and the DLC. Being the offspring of Queen Marika’s second marriage to Radagon of the Golden Order, these twins are extremely powerful and full of divinity.
That said, as mighty as they are, they’re also the youngest bosses on this list, as they have older half-brothers and sisters who were born from the first marriage of Marika and the marriage of Radagon and Rennala. While Miquella is not optional, Malenia is, so players can choose not to face her. However, if they want to make their playthrough as hard as possible, Malenia shouldn’t be skipped.
7
Radahn
Miquella’s Promised Consort, Defier Of Gravity
- Very fast for his size
- Older half-brother of Malenia and Miquella
When the game was first released, Starscourage Radahn was one of the bosses that players were struggling the most to defeat. This is not surprising, as he has devastating attacks at long range and can ride his horse, Leonard, at considerable speed. Radahn is the offspring of Rennala and Radagon, which explains why he has such control of gravity and the stars, as well as his overall appearance and prowess in battle.

Elden Ring: 22 Best Helms In The Game
Players looking to sport the best helms in Elden Ring should locate the following headgear.
Along with his siblings, Rykard and Ranni, he is the older half-brother of Miquella and Malenia. Players who are struggling to defeat him should try some of the best ashes of war available to them up to that point in the game to make the fight easier.
6
Rykard
The Blasphemous Devourer Of Gods
- Must be killed with a special weapon
- His boss arena is well hidden
The boss fight against Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy is not easy, especially because players will have to figure out that they can’t kill him with regular weapons. As the son of Radagon of the Golden Order and Queen Rennala, he is the full brother of Radhan and Ranni, as well as the half-brother of Malenia, Miquella.
As opposed to other bosses on this list, Rykard is completely optional and can be easily missed as Volcano Manor and its boss arena are somewhat hidden. Defeating Rykard is a game of patience and resilience, so if players decide to take him on, they’ll have to wait for the right moment to strike.
5
Ranni
The Mysterious Lunar Princess
- Interesting questline that’s well rewarded upon completion
- She first appears as a mysterious character that doesn’t seem to be too important
As the last child of Radagon and Rennala on this list, Ranni the Witch is a very mysterious character who, as opposed to her siblings, does not represent an immediate danger to the Tarnished. Players will first meet Ranni in the Church of Elleh and can later talk to her in Ranni’s Rise, found in the Three Sisters sub-region of Liurnia of the Lakes.
She has a very interesting storyline that will reward players handsomely if they complete it. Doing so takes a while, but it’s well worth it.
4
Morgott
The Accursed Omen King
- Morgott was shunned upon birth
- Margit and Morgott are the same
Players will be surprised to learn that Morgott, the Omen King, is the exact same enemy that they faced under the name of Margit, the Fell Omen earlier in the game. Naturally, Morgott is much harder and brings a lot of new tricks to the table, not to mention that he’s one of the hardest bosses to parry without practice.
Morgott is the cursed child of Queen Marika and Godfrey, the First Elden Lord, and was shunned from an early age due to his deformity.
3
Mohg
The Mighty Lord Of Blood
- Mohg lives in Mohgwyn Palace
- There are many methods to make his boss fight easier
Like his twin brother, Morgott, Mohg was also shunned upon birth due to his physical traits. When players encounter Mohg, he has taken residence in Mohgwyn Palace, which is a very difficult area to progress through. Being the son of Godfrey and Marika, he is very powerful and seems to be obsessed with his younger half-brother Miquella.
There are many ways to make Mohg easier to fight, but few are as effective as picking the right one-handed sword, staff, or even Strength weapon to melt his health bar.
2
Godfrey
Father Of Godwyn, Morgott And Mohg
- A powerful foe who’s very old
- His second phase is much tougher than the first
Before Marika was married to Radagon, she was married to Godfrey, the First Elden Lord. With him, she had Mohg, Morgott, and Godwyn. Godfrey is extremely powerful, as shown by his boss fight in Leyndell, Ashen Capital. Although Godfrey is considered to be the first Elden Lord and one of the oldest beings in The Lands Between, there are many who claim that Placidusax is actually much older than him.

Whatever the case, it’s undeniable that Godfrey is very powerful and responsible for creating many of the toughest bosses in the game.
1
Placidusax
Considered To Be Older Than Godfrey
- Some say he’s older than most things in The Lands Between
- Deadly AoE attacks with wide coverage
Last but not least, there’s Placidusax, who lives in Crumbling Farum Azula. This Dragon Lord is extremely powerful and can end the life of most Tarnished with a couple of successful hits. Many claim that he is one of the oldest beings in existence, even older than Godfrey, the first Elden Lord.
Defeating him can be a little tricky, as he can disappear when he flies and has powerful AoE attacks with wide coverage. He is completely optional and can be easily missed, but if players want a challenge, skipping this fight is strongly advised against.
