Key Takeaways

- Fans are encouraging EA to address the glitch promptly to resolve defensive issues in the game.
EA Sports FC 25 players are apparently facing a game-breaking glitch that hinders their movement when certain commands are pressed simultaneously, rendering them unable to defend against attacks. Being the newest entry in the best-selling soccer simulation series, FC 25 features many of the most popular players in the sport, such as Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi, along with some of the top teams, including Real Madrid, Manchester United, and FC Barcelona.
For years now, EA Sports FC, formerly known as FIFA, has received flak for some ridiculous bugs and glitches. From letting FIFA 23 players add female soccer stars to a male soccer team to making them jump like Nintendo mascot Mario in FIFA 21, there have been quite a few notable instances of such problems plaguing EA’s annual soccer game. With FC 25 having released on September 27, a new major glitch has seemingly emerged, making defending in the game a grueling task.
On Reddit, many EA Sports FC 25 players have come out acknowledging that they can’t use the left stick to move their defender when L2 (jockey command) and R1 (second-man press command) buttons are pressed at the same time. This has been giving players a hard time defending against the opponent, especially against pacy forwards. A post mentions that, when this happens, the left stick input gets locked until either L2 or R1 button is released. In the replies, a couple of others said that this issue affects the FC 25‘s Pro Clubs mode as well as its career mode.
EA Sports FC 25 Players Face a Terrible Issue While Defending
While jockeying is an important action against skillful players in FC 25 who like to take on the defenders, the second-man press is a popular command that invokes an additional defender to help pressure the ball-carrying opponent. Using these two commands at the same time in FC 25 can sometimes allow the player to regain possession and start a counter-attack. Having an in-game issue that pops up when these two actions are performed together can often spell disaster for defenders, spoiling the player’s experience significantly.
Although the glitch is a serious one, it’s important to note that FC 25 has only recently been released, and it isn’t unusual for games of this scale to have some issues in their early days. However, the nature of this particular glitch should call EA into prompt action, so that the defensive woes of the players are handled at the earliest. On Steam, FC 25‘s initial reviews have been “Mixed,” with players criticizing the bugs and certain gameplay shortcomings in EA’s soccer sim.
