Darknut Lv. 3 Location in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Quick Links
Table of Contents
The Darknut Echo is one of the first monster-based Echoes you’ll get in Echoes of Wisdom, so naturally, you’ll want the Darknut Lv. 3. Unlike the regular Darknut and Darknut Lv. 2, Lv. 3 is not obtained from any of Echoes of Wisdom‘s dungeons. Instead, you’ll have to brave the depths of a cave in eastern Faron Wetlands. Darknut Lv. 3 is a powerful opponent that will make quick work of your weaker Echoes and Zelda herself if you’re not careful. Defeating the Darknut Lv. 3 will also give you a useful reward, so it’s worth tracking down regardless of whether or not you use it to fight.

How to Get Darknut Lv. 3 Echo
Open your map, and look at the southeastern corner to find the Faron Wetlands. Your journey will eventually lead you to this area, so it’s likely you’ll have the map filled out. Look for Scrubton, which is located in the upper-center of Faron Wetlands. From Scrubton’s Smoothie Shop, head east to find some ruins. You’ll spot an entrance in the wall that leads into the ruins and where the Darknut Lv. 3 awaits. Before you enter, make sure you have some Lv. 2 Echoes or the Wizzrobe Echoes. They will serve well in the fight to learn the Darknut Echo.
Once you’re inside, you’ll see a room with five pathways guarded by Armos. All the Armos will come to life if you get too close, but you can move them without getting hurt with Tri’s Bind Ability (X-button). Also, take note of the broken blocks in the pathway floor. If you touch them, they’ll crumble, so be careful. Move the second Armos from the let to reveal a ladder. Get rid of the Armosby dropping it into the abyss.
If you don’t have the Armos Echo, then defeat one to learn it. The Armos’ weakness is located on its back.
If you use Tri’s Bind Ability
and have Zelda pull the Armos towards her, you can turn it around and expose its weak point. Attack its bright blue backside with your Echoes or Swordfighter Mode. If you don’t want to bother Learning the Armos, then you can get one through “A Rift in the Faron Wetlands” story quest.
In the next room, you’ll be faced with a huge rock wall that can be climbed. There are also Beamos planted near the wall to snipe Zelda as she climbs. Unlike Armos, Beamos can be defeated by targeting their single eye. Unfortunately, true to their name, they’ll fire a beam in your direction if they sight you. You’ll have to be quick to stun it, so use an Echo such as the Crow or Keese. At this point, Tri should have more power, allowing you to send a handful of Crows/Keese at the Beamos. When a Beamos is hit, it’ll turn to stone. To fully defeat it, you’ll have to use a Bombfish or the Swordfighter Mode’s Bombs.
Climb the rock wall to the top, and follow the path up the red ladders. Take the next set of rock walls to a new room. Go to the very end of the third room to find the Darknut Lv. 3. It’ll go on the attack when it sees you, so be ready to fight.
The Darknut Lv. 3 is as slow as most Darknuts, but it has a longer “spin attack.” You can face off against it with two regular Darknuts or, if you have them, a Lv. 3 Echo such as the Sword Moblin. Swordfighter abilities such as the bow may come in handy as well. Fortunately, the Darknut Lv. 3 isn’t as fast as most enemies, so as long as you keep Zelda a good distance from it, you should be fine.
Defeating the Darknut Lv. 3 for the first time will cause a chest to appear. Inside is the Spin Brace.

How Much Power to Summon Darknut Lv. 3
The Darknut Lv.3 costs 5 triangles of Tri’s power to use, meaning you can use it once Tri reaches level 6. At max level, the number of triangles to summon Darknut Lv. 3 is reduced to one. You won’t be able to summon two Lv. 3 Darknuts, but you can summon one in addition to a regular Darknut (2 triangles by level 4).
