Although Dark Souls 3 is meant to be challenging, there’s always a balance between bosses that are very difficult and those that aren’t as hard. While none of them are forgiving for the level players face them at, there are some things like speed, resistance or weakness to status effects like Frostbite that can change the game significantly.

Many of the fastest bosses in Dark Souls 3 do not hit as hard, which makes fights more fair, whereas those that are slower sometimes hit like a truck to make up for their lack of agility. Here are some of the slowest bosses in Dark Souls 3.

Vordt of the Boreal Valley is a peculiar boss in Dark Souls 3, as he can be quite easy to defeat if players know the trick of staying close to his legs and avoiding his charge attacks. However, even those who are newcomers to the franchise and have no previous knowledge of the tips to make him simple to defeat can normally avoid getting hit by him due to his slow speed.

While the High Wall of Lothric is a very early point in the game to have a character with a well-developed build. Using a good quality weapon at this particular point can go a long way.

Granted, it moves at a very slow pace and its attacks are fairly easy to predict; however, since it’s encountered early on in the game, some players might have trouble beating it within their first few tries.

Using a good Dexterity weapon like the Sellsword Twinblades can help players be able to strike faster, increasing their chances of hitting the pustules more often.

Aldrich, Devourer Of Gods

His Great Rain Of Arrows Is Deadly And Extremely Hard To Dodge

Aldrich is one of the last Lords of Cinder that players will have to defeat before they can gain access to the Kiln of the First Flame and the Soul of Cinder. Saint Aldrich can be found deep in Anor Londo, guarded by many deacons, Black Knights, and other deadly enemies that hide in the shadows.

Aldrich does not move particularly fast. However, he does have a deadly rain of arrows that can kill players quickly if they don’t know how to dodge it properly. Since Aldrich is slow to dodge, using a Greatsword against him can go a long way to dealing good damage in a short time.

High Lord Wolnir

A Gimmick Boss Fight That Is Quite Intimidating

The fight against High Lord Wolnir in the Catacombs of Carthus can be very intimidating. But once players face him, they’ll quickly learn that this is just a psychological tactic that the game is playing on them. In reality, High Lord Wolnir is mostly harmless, and the real danger lies with the poison in his boss arena. He’s quite slow to attacking players, which makes hitting the bracelets on his wrists rather simple.

Choosing a starting class like the Mercenary, which comes paired with the Sellsword Twinblades can be a great idea, as quick strikes can quickly break Wolnir’s bracelets and bring him down.

Yhorm The Giant

Yhorm the Giant is arguably the largest boss in the entirety of Dark Souls 3. On top of this, he’s a Lord of Cinder, which means that players have to defeat him to progress through the game. Found in the Profaned Capital, Yhorm sits in a large throne room that players will have to learn by heart to know where to run, as he has incredible range with his Great Machete.

More Of An Annoyance Than An Actual Challenge

Lastly, there’s the Deacons of the Deep. More than being an actual challenge, these guys are more of a nuisance, as they don’t really hit very hard, move at the pace of an elderly snail, and basically stick to chasing players across the room they can be found in.

Using one of the best Strength weapons in the game while having a decent Strength build can make dealing with them very easy, as a single strike might be enough to bring a large number of them down, exposing the Archdeacon.
