Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Skin Might Be 'Pay to Win'
Summary
- A new Terminator skin in Black Ops 6 may be pay-to-win due to visibility issues on the battlefield.
- The Endo Titanium Core skin is causing difficulties for players to spot during matches.
Gamers online have pointed out that one of the new Terminator skins in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 may be inadvertently pay-to-win, with many players having issues spotting them on the battlefield. Treyarch has released plenty of Operator skins for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 since launch, but if anything, many of them have made players too visible to others.
Upon the launch of Black Ops 6 last year, Operators did not carry over from the previous game. This led to some hope that the cosmetics in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 may take a more grounded approach, although subsequent releases would stop this. It wasn’t long until there were plenty of bright new skins in the game, as well as several crossovers with other franchises. This approach has received a mixed response from players – some prefer the grittiness of more realistic Call of Duty games from years ago, while others enjoy the loud cosmetic options, even if they don’t make for a cohesive visual aesthetic.

Treyarch released the Terminator Tracer Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on February 5, which is available for 3,000 COD Points. A recent post by Redditor Automatic_Ad1665 has pointed out one massive issue with the Endo Titanium Core Operator skin in the pack. Players are having difficulties spotting it during matches, essentially making it pay-to-win. The skin itself is a dark rusted metal color, which means it could have serious visibility issues on several Black Ops 6 maps.
Black Ops 6 Players Are Having Difficulty Spotting the New Terminator Skin
Many players in the thread agreed with the sentiment, with the visibility issues proving especially prominent while prone. One gamer was self-deprecating about the situation, joking, “Idk people seem to see me just fine.” While 3,000 COD Points is a steep price to pay, it’s ultimately frustrating that players can pay for an advantage, which can somewhat compromise the integrity of Black Ops 6 Ranked Play matches. It was also pointed out that when similar Terminator skins were released in Gears of War 5 over five years ago, players had the exact same issue, which is an interesting tidbit.
There seems to be no end to the constant stream of new cosmetics coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Just recently, Treyarch announced that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, perhaps the strangest collaboration yet. Then, with the upcoming launch of Season 2 Reloaded, there will presumably be even more cosmetics on the way. Gamers will just have to hope there isn’t any pay-to-win options.
