Best Sunday Teams in HSR
Sunday is a Support character with an absolutely stacked kit for boosting your DPS carry’s damage output in Honkai: Star Rail. He has some of the best parts of other popular Harmony characters, as well as a special effect that gives him his own niche in the game’s ever-growing roster.
Much like other Support units in HSR, Sunday is an excellent pick in a lot of team comps, but if you want to get the most out of his abilities, you’ll want to keep the peculiarities of his skills in mind. Instead of specific teams, this guide covers characters who stand to benefit the most from Sunday (one way or another).

Best Units to Use With Sunday in HSR
Sunday is a bit of a universal character. He provides damage buffs and Energy, and he can move allies and their summons up the turn order. Sunday isn’t strictly limited to supporting only characters with summons, though he will shine best with them.
In a way, Sunday plays a bit like Bronya, Sparkle, and 4-star Tingyun combined — use his Skill to buff damage and make allies act more frequently, and use his Ultimate to charge allied Energy meters for even more friendly Ultimate spam. Here are some of the best units to team Sunday up with.
It’s worth reiterating that while Sunday works best with summon-based characters, the sheer value of his damage and crit stat buffs are enough to make him worth using with every other character that deals direct damage.
Robin
Robin unironically works well with her brother in traditional FUA teams. Players can reach extreme damage numbers if they combine the buffs of both siblings, especially if the team’s main carry is a summon user like Jing Yuan. Sunday can take the place of someone like Bronya in a hypercarry team with Robin, just make sure to tune your characters’ Speed values so you can get the most optimal first-turn order.
Jing Yuan
Speaking of Jing Yuan, he is one of the best damage dealers to pair with Sunday. The latter solves many of the Luofu General’s issues — he can cleanse CC effects, provide Energy, and move both Jing Yuan and Lightning Lord up the turn order, with the former taking action before the latter. All of these are on top of Sunday’s usual damage buffs. You can expect Sunday to be a staple in many Jing Yuan team comps from now on.
To get 10 Lightning Lord stacks, Jing Yuan needs to act twice and use his Ultimate. Most of the time, Lightning Lord will be hitting enemies with seven stacks if Jing Yuan is advanced by Sunday.
Lingsha
As far as Sustain units go, Lingsha is the only one so far who stands to get the maximum number of benefits from Sunday’s kit. As a healer with a summoned unit, Lingsha will be able to enjoy all the perks that Sunday gives to Jing Yuan. Granted, buffing a healer instead of a damage dealer isn’t the most ideal of things to do, but given how hard Lingsha and Fuyuan can hit when built a specific way, giving her Sunday’s buffs isn’t that horrible of an idea.
Like Topaz, Lingsha can advance Fuyuan’s turn by herself, making Sunday’s own Action Advance effect redundant. Still, if you have absolutely no choice but to use Break or even Crit Lingsha in Pure Fiction or MoC, this is a decent consideration.
