1989 Porsche 944 Turbo
A Great Choice for B-Class Road Races
- How To Get It: Autoshow, Auction House, Wheelspins
- Price: 35,000 CR (Autoshow), 4,000 – 24,000 CR (Auction House)
The Retro Sports Car category in Forza Horizon 5 is filled with cars that are great for B700 and A800 performance classes. And the Porsche 944 Turbo is among the most versatile cars in this category. It can be built for road races as well as rally courses, both in the A800 and the B700 performance classes.
Where it thoroughly shines, however, is in B-Class road races. It’s not necessarily the quickest in any specific category of racing, but more of a jack of all trades.
8
1989 Toyota MR2 SC
The Perfect Pocket Rocket Rally Car
- How To Get It: Autoshow, Auction House
- Price: 20,000 CR (Autoshow), 2,000 – 70,000 CR (Auction House)
One thing about retro sports cars is that they’re very tunable cars that can be built for different types of races. The older Toyota MR2 model in the game is a personable little pocket rocket that offers the perfect sports car profile for rally races.
What stands out about it is its short wheelbase, giving it a small turning circle radius and a low center of gravity. Install an AWD conversion kit, some dirt racing tires, a rally differential, and a suspension kit, and it’ll take on gravel like a hot knife to butter.
7
1992 Toyota Supra 2.0 GT
The Tamer, Prettier Supra with Pop-Up Headlights
- How To Get It: Autoshow, Auction House, Wheelspin
- Price: 20,000 CR (Autoshow), 2,000 – 24,000 CR (Auction House)
Is that a Supra? Yes, it is, but not the one players think it is. The Toyota Supra is one of the most iconic cars from the Japanese market. But this one isn’t the one that’s popular. It’s the 3rd generation Supra with the 1JZ engine.

In Forza Horizon 5, the 1992 Toyota Supra is one of the best cars in the Retro Sports Car category. It does not have the personality of the 4th generation Supra, but its 1JZ engine can be tuned to generate nearly as much power. Its longer, thinner profile also gives it floaty, smooth handling characteristics that make it easier to drive than the 4th generation.
6
1995 BMW 850 CSI
The Prettiest BMW Ever Made
- How To Get It: Auction House
- Price: 25,000 – 20mn CR
Arguably among the prettiest cars in the game, and certainly the best-looking BMW in the game, the 1995 850 CSI is a capable all-rounder best suited for road racing. With some mild tuning, it can work well in B-Class road races. It is also very good at A800 races with advanced performance parts like slick tires and turbochargers.
The BMW 850 CSI stands out because of its high top speed at A and B-class performance levels, and grippy handling. It doesn’t lose traction much because of its thick tires, making it ideal for grip and top-end performance builds for high-speed cornering.
5
1998 Toyota Supra RZ
Yes, that is a Supra
- How To Get It: Autoshow, Auction House
- Price: 35,000 CR (Autoshow), 4,000 – 21, 000 CR (Auction House)
Of course, this list would have the Toyota Supra with the 2JZ engine. It’s arguably the most iconic retro sports car in automotive history. And true to its legend, the Toyota Supra in Forza Horizon 5 is incredibly fast. Its 2JZ engine can be tuned to generate almost 2000 horsepower and the car’s engine sounds amazing when it’s tuned well.
Needless to say, it also comes with all the characteristics of a real Supra. The more horsepower it generates, the more difficult it gets to drive. But its raw acceleration makes it one of the fastest cars in this category, and when tuned for B700, A800, or even S1900, the Supra RZ remains perfectly drivable.
4
1997 Nissan Skyline GTR V-Spec
The Best Skyline GTR in the Game
- How To Get It: Autoshow, Auction House
- Price: 37,000 CR (Autoshow), 4,000 – 20,000 CR (Auction House)
Like the Supra, the Nissan Skyline GTR is among the most popular sports cars from the 90s, earning its iconic “Godzilla” nickname. While Forza Horizon 5 has every generation of Nissan GTR, it’s the R33 that delivers the best performance in the game.

3
1998 Nissan Silvia Club K’s Aero
An Underrated Gem With Some Strong Lap Times
- How To Get It: Autoshow, Auction House
- Price: 3,000 – 14,000 CR
This is where Forza Horizon 5 shows its video game characteristics because there’s no way a Nissan Silvia is faster around road races than a Supra or a Skyline GTR in real life. But this one is. The 1998 Silvia Club K’s Aero, based on the S14 generation of the Nissan Silvia is among the best-handling cars in the game.
When tuned to A800 with a grip build, it’s among the fastest cars around a road race, delivering lap times that keep up with and even beat some Ferraris, Porsches, and Lamborghinis. Its lightweight chassis and nimble handling make it one of the easiest cars to drive in the game.
2
1990 Mazda Savanna RX-7
A Rotary Powered Gem That is Easy To Drive
- How To Get It: Auction House, Wheelspin
- Price: 3,000 to 2.9mn CR (Auction House)
Another anomaly, in that it isn’t as popular as its successor, the Mazda FD3S RX-7, the FC3S RX-7, or as it is popularly known, the Savanna RX-7 is among the best cars to drive in Forza Horizon 5. Not only does it have a lightweight build and an agile chassis, but it can also be tuned for some great horsepower numbers and delivers fantastic performance.

The Stylish Meta Car Developed by Ayrton Senna

In Forza Horizon 5, the NSX R-GT, which is a homologation variant of the NSX-R that races in Japanese Super GT championships, is considered a meta car by the community. It has got some tunes in the A800 and S1900 performance classes that make it among the best cars in these classes with the fastest lap times on Road Races.
