The Tamer requires a certain build to make the most of it in this third-person shooter. Some stats are much more important than others, and there is a need to use modules that boost these stats. Firearm ATK, Fire Rate, Weak Point Damage, and Critical Damage are all stats a player needs to boost when putting together a build based on The Tamer machine gun.
7 Rifling Reinforcement
Increased Firearm Attack
- Class: General Rounds
- Socket: Malachite
- Capacity: 6
The Rifling Reinforcement module in The First Descendant will increase the Firearm ATK stat of The Tamer between 12% and 32%, depending on which level module a player manages to loot. Firearm ATK is one of the main stats that a build based around The Tamer needs to focus on.

There are a number of handguns in The First Descendant that stand out as being the best of the bunch.
The Rifling Reinforcement module can be looted from monster kills, and also from completing missions in two areas of the map. These are Haglios and Kingston. It may take some time to loot the top-level module though.
6 Fire Rate Up
Increased Firearm Attack
- Class: General Rounds
- Socket: Xantic
- Capacity: 5
This module also increases the Firearm ATK stat for The Tamer. For most builds that use this ultimate tier machine gun, the Firearm ATK stat is going to be the most valuable stat to try and boost as high as possible.
The Fire Rate Up module will increase the Firearm ATK stats between 8% and 25%, depending on which level of the module a player is able to acquire. This module is only available from the Sterile Lands area of the map, as a general monster drop, or for completing missions.
5 Better Concentration
Increased Critical Hit Damage
- Class: General Rounds
- Socket: Almandine
- Capacity: 6
Boosting the critical damage stat for The Tamer machine gun in The First Descendant is a great way to boost its overall damage output. There is no downside at all to using the Better Concentration module, as it only positively impacts a single stat. It boosts crit damage between 19% and 74.8%, depending on the level.
The version of the Better Concentration module that works with General Rounds can only be farmed in the Sterile Lands area of the map. It drops from monsters, and may also be given as a mission reward.
4 Action And Reaction
Increased Firearm Attack But With Increased Recoil
- Class: General Rounds
- Socket: Almandine
- Capacity: 6
The General Rounds version of the Action And Reaction module is needed for The Tamer machine gun in The First Descendant. This module has a downside though, it does increase the Firearm ATK stat which is important, but it also raises the recoil slightly, so it is a bit of a play-off between the two.
The Action And Reaction module Firearm ATK from 15% to 61%, and recoil from 5% to 20%, based on the level of the module that a player is using. Once again, this is only available as a loot drop, or a mission reward, in the Sterile Land area of the map.
3 Have Aiming
Better Weakspot Damage But Worse Accuracy
- Class: General Rounds
- Socket: Malachite
- Capacity: 6
The Have Aiming module in The First Descendant, is another module that has both a positive and negative impact, this time on weakspot damage and accuracy. The module gives from 10% to 40% additional weakspot damage, but also lowers accuracy by 5% to 20%.

The player will need to head to the Echo Swamp area of the map to try and loot the Have Aiming module for The Tamer machine gun. It drops from kills, and can also be granted as a mission reward in this area.
2 Concentration Priority
Better Critical Damage But Slower Reload
- Class: General Rounds
- Socket: Almandine
- Capacity: 6
The Concentration Priority module works well for The Tamer machine gun in The First Descendant. Yes, it increases how long it takes to reload the weapon. But as a machine gun already has a pretty large magazine, this is not a show-stopper.
The Concentration Priority module increases critical edamame between 30% and 120%, which is a massive bonus. It increases the reload time between 8% and 30% though. It can only be obtained as loot of mission rewards in the Hagios area of the map.
1 Mental Focus
Increased Firearm Attack But Reduced Rate Of Fire
- Class: General Rounds
- Socket: Malachite
- Capacity: 6
The Mental Focus module in The First Descendant is a little complicated. Firstly, it reduces the fire rate of a weapon. However, this is mitigated by the fact that every time a bullet leaves the weapon, Firearm ATK is increased by .25% for 2 seconds. Furthermore, this bonus to Firearm ATK can stack up to 150 times. When the player reloads or switches weapons, the bonus is removed.
