Some of these fan creations come in the form of art depicting scenes from the game, while other gamers choose to make unique crossovers with their favorite franchises. A short while back, another gamer created fan art that combines Adventure Time with Baldur’s Gate 3, which is another crossover that most wouldn’t say comes to mind initially.

Redditor Ravencoretres shared multiple pieces of fan art, which take the Baldur’s Gate 3 companions Shadowheart, Lae’zel, Karlach, and Minthara, and show what they might look like as Pokemon trainers. Ravencoretres has assigned the characters three Pokemon that have similar traits to each, and it’s clear that plenty of thought has gone into each. For example, Shadowheart has Clefairy, Lae’zel has Charizard, Karlach has Arcanine, and Minthara has Ariados. One user in the thread described the choices as “really unusual but perfect.”

With only four Baldur’s Gate 3 companions depicted here, some fans on Reddit got straight to imagining what Pokemon other companions would have. One claimed that Gale would have a “perfectly EV trained alakazam,” while another gamer pointed out that a Crobat, Mightyena, and Ghastly could be perfect for Baldur’s Gate 3‘s Astarion. When asked to do some of the guy characters, Ravencoretres claimed they “Definitely will at some point,” but they’re “gonna take a bit of a break first since these took longer than expected.”

Although Larian Studios has largely moved on from Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s cool to see how much its community still adores the game. That’s not to say support for the RPG has totally stopped; features like crossplay and photo mode are still planned as well as regular bug fixes. However, earlier this year, Larian opened a new studio to assist with two new RPGs, suggesting it is already making progress towards its next couple of projects.
