Summary

  • A new Apex Legends update fixes issues with Ash and Wattson.
  • The gameplay experience should be improved due to bug fixes, including resolved crashing issues on Xbox and Switch.
  • Apex Legends continues to make balance tweaks and address bugs in Season 24.

Apex Legends has released another new update to improve gameplay and fix some bugs in the battle royale. While Season 24 launched on February 11, Respawn Entertainment continues to push updates to improve the game. While this latest patch lacks any substantial balance changes, it should make the experience for some Apex Legends players better.

Season 24 of Apex Legends has made massive changes to the battle royale. Despite not introducing a new Legend, the seasonal update gave the Assault class a significant rework, giving them three powerful perks: Combat Reserve, Stowed Reload, and Battle Surge. In addition to the class changes, Legends like Ash and Ballistic received significant buffs, and numerous guns were tweaked. Since the season started, Respawn has released new patches to improve the game, with the latest recently going live.

Apex Legends’ latest season made some great changes, but Respawn’s in-the-works 2.0 update still has a lot to do to save the game.

On February 24, a new update for Apex Legends was released, aiming to fix various problems in the battle royale. Among the changes were a couple of bug fixes connected to Legends. Players should no longer have problems accidentally dashing while playing Ash, making her ability more reliable to use. The developers also fixed the visual delay bug that could happen when placing fences as Wattson in Apex Legends. Some other fixes included Mythic R-301 attachments no longer disappearing after respawns and Wraith’s Slow-Clap emote working as intended now.

In addition, the update fixed several frustrating crash-related issues. Specifically, a crash tied to viewing the Match Summary screen has been resolved. Furthermore, crashes on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch have been fixed. Considering game crashes can ruin the gameplay experience, these fixes will hopefully create a more stable environment for players.

It is worth pointing out that these changes came only a few days after a previous Apex Legends update that nerfed Ash, among other things. While the developer looked to make the Assault class more viable at the start of Season 24, many think the changes made to Ash’s abilities were overdone. As a result, she received multiple nerfs to her Passive, Predator’s Pursuit, which allows her to dash while in the air.

It will be interesting to see what further changes Respawn makes in the remainder of Season 24. Following the seasonal update, the player count for the game rose on Steam. However, the numbers are still substantially lower compared to several years ago. As Respawn continues making balance tweaks and bug fixes in Apex Legends moving forward, time will tell if the gameplay will elevate as a result.
