Watch Beyoncé’s Grammy acceptance speech, finally winning Album of the Year
FINALLY.
After years of totally transparent snubs, Beyoncé has taken home the Grammy for Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter. If that ain’t country, tell me, what is?
At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Beyoncé’s speech was short and meaningful, not only thanking the Los Angeles fire department, who presented the award, for their efforts, but also thanking every songwriter, collaborator and producer who worked on Cowboy Carter.
“I just feel very full and very honoured,” said Beyoncé. “It’s been many, many years.”
Beyoncé is the most awarded and nominated artist in Grammys history, with 32 wins and 99 nominations. Despite that, she’s never won Album of the Year — though she’s been nominated four times (I Am … Sasha Fierce in 2008, Beyoncé in 2013, Lemonade in 2016, and Renaissance in 2023). Even Adele said the quiet part out loud. With her fifth nomination for the award for Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé finally took the stage to accept Album of the Year on Sunday.
Now, go and turn up Cowboy Carter and stare in a loaded fashion at the Grammys.
