‘The Monkey’ teaser: Osgood Perkins’s Stephen King adaptation is full of messed-up deaths
A freaky monkey toy unleashes death and destruction in The Monkey, director Osgood Perkins’s (Longlegs) adaptation of Stephen King’s short story of the same name.
‘Longlegs’ haunting ending, explained
The film follows twins Hal and Bill (both played by The White Lotus‘s Theo James), who find their father’s old monkey toy in the attic. According to The Monkey‘s new redband teaser, the toy is a an otherworldly beast with the power to kill anyone. “Whoever controls it, controls life and death,” James tells us in voiceover. “And those deaths are really fucked up.”
Don’t believe him? The trailer is happy to show you evidence, featuring deaths by hotel air conditioning unit, hibachi grill, and flaming baby stroller. Gnarly stuff.
The Monkey hits theaters Feb. 21, 2025.
