Stephen Colbert gleefully mocks Trump’s podcast appearance, clip by clip
The Late Show returned this week after a short break, and Stephen Colbert wasted no time getting back to a favourite hobby of his: drawing attention to Donald Trump’s ever-growing list of deeply bizarre comments.
On Wednesday the host turned his attention to Trump’s recent appearance on Lex Fridman’s podcast, where he reacted to clips of the former president talking about everything from marijuana legalisation to his thoughts on death (“To a certain extent life is what you do while you’re waiting to die,” was Trump’s cheery input).
“As Forrest Gump said, ‘Life is like a box of death. You always know what you’re gonna get, and that’s dead,’” said Colbert, once again in Trump impression mode. “That line’s from Castaway, poor guy, his wife was a volleyball. But while you’re waiting to die you might as well kiss the ball. Her name was Wilson. Rita Wilson, very beautiful. We miss you, Tom.”
