The No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide will face the Michigan Wolverines (7-5) in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Florida. The game is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT on Dec. 31.
The Tide are a little sour about being kept out of the College Football Playoff’s 12-team field. Alabama was ranked No. 11 at the end of the regular season, but the way the bracket fell kept the Tide on the outside looking in. And after some serious blowouts in the first round, Alabama had a lot to say about the committee’s decisions.
It’s also quite a fall for the defending champion Michigan Wolverines. Michigan did not land among the CFP’s Top 25 at all in the five weeks the committee released rankings. The Wolverines did, however, spend eight consecutive weeks in the AP Top 25, peaking at No. 9. And, if they need any luck, they are 3-2 against Alabama in previous bowl matchups.
