Amazon Android Days sale 2024: Save on unlocked phones, tablets, and more

September is setting up to be an iOS-centric month, but the last gasps of August are all about Android at Amazon.
Through the end of the day (Aug. 28), the retail giant is offering deals on all things Android as part of a 48-hour “Android Days” sale — think unlocked phones, tablets, accessories, and more. (This appears to be the second time Amazon has hosted such an event.) Full disclosure: It largely feels like an excuse for Amazon to plug some of its ongoing deals on Google’s latest gadgets, which have been hanging around since their preorder days. But hey, savings are savings.
What to expect from Apple’s September event: iPhone 16, Apple Watch 10, and more
We’ve combed through all 20 pages of the sale and rounded up the very best deals below:
Best unlocked phone deal
Why we like it:
Read Mashable’s full review of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL.
The biggest smartphone in Google’s new Pixel 9 lineup, the 6.8-inch Pixel 9 Pro XL is the longest-lasting smartphone we’ve ever tested: It clocked in at nearly 19 hours on a single charge in our TikTok rundown trial. It also has better cameras and a nicer display than last year’s Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, said Tech Editor Kim Gedeon. It’s a newly crowned Mashable Choice Award winner, and all configurations of it come with a free $200 gift card at Amazon (starting at $1,099 for the 128GB version). Take your pick from four colors: Obsidian, Hazel, Porcelain, and Rose Quartz.

Best tablet deal
Why we like it:
Mashable hasn’t reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+, a fall 2023 release, but our sister site PCMag (owned by Ziff Davis, Mashable’s publisher) deemed it “the Android slate to beat” for its slick design, performance, long battery life, and top-tier build quality. (It’s waterproof and it ships with an S Pen at no extra cost.) It earned a 4/5 rating and an Editor’s Choice nod over there. Amazon’s Android Days event has brought the Silver base model down to $479.99, which is a 20% savings and $10 away from its lowest price to date. The other colors are $20 more.

Best Chromebook deal
Why we like it:
Oddly, this is the only Chromebook featured in Android Days. (Chromebooks can run Android apps.) It’s not an impressive laptop by any means, with that dinky Intel Celeron processor and 64GB of eMMC storage. But for $190, it works as a simple, frills-free laptop for schoolwork or email-sending. If it helps, this appears to be its cheapest price ever.

Best smartwatch deal
Why we like it:
Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch 7 comes equipped with a built-in blood oxygen sensor, blood-pressure monitor, and a sleep apnea sensor — three features you won’t find in the current-generation Apple Watch. It’s the primo wearable for health-conscious users, and Amazon will give you a free $40 gift card if you buy it there. The Bluetooth-only version starts at $299.99, while the LTE model starts at $349.99.

Best earbuds deal
Why we like them:
In another random deal, Amazon will give you a bonus $30 gift card if you pre-order the new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 ahead of their Sept. 26 release. (For what it’s worth, this one will almost certainly stick around after Android Days formally ends.) Announced alongside the Pixel 9 series at Made By Google 2024, these are Google’s first earbuds with its AI chatbot Gemini built-in. They also have a slimmer, supposedly comfier design with a new “twist-to-adjust stabilizer” that helps keep them in place.
