How to Recruit the Pawnbroker in Necesse
Quick Links
Table of Contents
As a game that puts a lot of focus on base building, management, and automation of menial tasks, Necesse gives the player the option to recruit a multitude of different NPCs in order for them to accomplish all the tasks they can think of. Each NPC has a unique specialty that distinguishes them from other NPCs and makes them worth recruiting. However, the villager does not have any unique attribute, making it a waste of resources to recruit this NPC.
Utilizing the specialties of different NPCs in the best way will lead the player to building the best possible settlement with the most optimized outputs possible. The Pawnbroker is one of the more important NPCs that players need to recruit, but getting him to agree to join your settlement can be a hassle. Until the specific conditions are met, the Pawnbroker will just tell the player that their settlement isn’t impressive enough. For those running into this problem, here’s a rundown on how to recruit the Pawnbroker in Necesse.

What Does The Pawnbroker Do In Necesse?
The Pawnbroker is the only recruitable NPC who can buy anything and everything from the player. This means that he is essentially the most reliable way to make money in Necesse. After getting a couple of things from different NPCs, you might think that money isn’t very important, since there aren’t a lot of places to spend it. However, more avenues of spending money come along once the player advances a bit further into a campaign.
Different NPCs require money to go on expeditions, some provide unique services like enchantments, while others sell powerful items like magic scrolls.
Additionally, the happier the player keeps the Pawnbroker, the higher he will value the goods sold by the player. When the Pawnbroker isn’t a part of your settlement, there is no way to control how much he’ll value any particular thing, and he will only visit the settlement every couple of days. However, after recruiting him, the player can sell him anything at any time and control his rate by maximizing his happiness.

How To Recruit The Pawnbroker In Necesse
The Pawnbroker’s recruitment condition isn’t very hard to fulfill once the player knows what they need to do. There are two conditions. If either is fulfilled, the Pawnbroker will be willing to join your settlement. Firstly, players can make the Pawnbroker interested in their settlement if they defeat the Ancient Vulture. This is the fifth both in the series of bosses and has 6500 HP in the Classic difficulty.
Secondly, players can recruit this NPC if they have at least 8 settlers in their settlement already. If either of these two conditions is met, the player can ask the Pawnbroker to join their settlement.
