In Marvel Rivals, Loki brings unique traits into battle, such as the ability to create healing clones and transfer himself between them, go invisible, and even temporarily transform himself into a clone of any other character on the field. When transforming into one of these clones, Loki immediately gains that character’s Ultimate Ability, which he can use at any point during his own Ultimate’s duration.

Marvel Rivals: All Leaked Upcoming Characters So Far

Marvel Rivals’ roster is set to grow steadily with each new season of content, and there are plenty of leaked heroes who might make the cut.

This makes Loki one of the most versatile characters in the game, with highly impressive and endless counterplay opportunities. For this reason, keeping an eye out for the perfect opportunity to use your Ultimate, and knowing which characters to prioritize when cloning someone, is very important information to consider. Characters with powerful burst damage, crowd control abilities, or game-changing Ultimates are prime targets for Loki to clone, with the top picks outlined below.

Luna Snow

Strategist

Fate of Both Worlds: Take center stage and start dancing! Press to toggle between two performances: Heal allies or grant them Damage Boost.

In Marvel Rivals, Luna Snow’s Ultimate is among the strongest Strategist Ultimates in the entire game. During use of this ability, Luna creates an AOE which grants significant damage boost or healing to her allies – both of which she can toggle between as needed. While damage boost comes in handy, the true clutch of this Ultimate is the healing capabilities, as Luna Snow can straight up out-heal incoming damage from other Ultimates, such as the likes of Star-Lord, Psylocke, Spider-Man, Rocket Raccoon, Winter Soldier, Punisher, and more.

Essentially, this enables Luna Snow to shut down over half of the most powerful Ultimates in the game, making her a brilliant choice for Loki to clone when in a pinch. In the case that you are down a Strategist and your team is unlikely to survive the fight without extra Support, pivoting from Loki’s slower burst heals into the huge AOE heal pulse of Luna Snow’s Ult can completely change the outcome of a team fight.

Galactic Legend: Engage in free-flight and lock onto enemies in sight.

Star-Lord’s Ultimate is easily the greatest asset of his entire kit, not only granting him crazy mobility with free flight but also the ability to lock on to targets and then gun them down with aimbot-like focus fire. At the very least, this Ultimate is great for securing a couple of crucial picks to turn a team fight, and at best, can be used to secure a complete team wipe in the right scenario.

Loki being able to simply clone Star-Lord and go immediately into his Ultimate is a very powerful play that can be highly effective in the right situation, helping your team to turn the tide in crucial team fights. While it may be somewhat of an overkill (and is certainly much more situational), Loki players who have a Star-Lord on their team can even time their Ultimates together to create huge pressure upon a push, and likely an easy team wipe with two aimbots soaring around the sky.

Doctor Strange

Vanguard

Eye of Agamotto: Separate nearby enemies’ Souls from their bodies. Damage dealt to these Souls is transferred to their physical bodies.

There’s a reason that Doctor Strange has remained at the top of the Vanguard character pool ever since the game went live – he just has such a powerful toolkit across all of his unique abilities. His Portals are incredibly flexible and the opportunities for strategies, flanking, and counterplay with them are almost endless. He has a toggle-able shield that he can use to block crucial hits and bursts of damage, and his Ultimate is among one of the best crowd-control abilities in the game.

There are many situations in which Loki copying Doctor Strange can be highly beneficial. Examples of how it can be best utilized are by creating some extra presence on your frontline, absorbing damage and creating space during an important push, blocking key cooldowns and Ults with your shield, creating a Portal to the point for a crucial touch in OT, or initiating//turning a fight with Eye of Agamotto – just to name a few.

4

Invisible Woman

A Support Ultimate That Can Mitigate Significant Damage

Invisible Woman

Strategist

Invisible Boundry: Manifest an unseen forcefield within a chosen area, rendering allies inside undetectable by enemies and providing healing over time. Enemies that pass through the field are slowed.

Invisible Woman is one of the strongest Strategist characters in the game, being able to pump out consistent high heal numbers for her team, and coming paired with an invisibility passive that can be used cleverly to get out of bad situations, or even to engage in plays alongside her knockback ability to push enemies off ledges, or into the abilities and Ultimates of your allies – including the notorious Doctor Strange Portal.

However, much like Luna Snow, Invisible Woman’s Ultimate is one of the best Support Ultimates in the game – providing huge healing and passive invisibility to her allies within the giant AOE, and slowing any enemy inside. This healing is more than enough to mitigate damage from several Ultimate Abilities, and can truly save a team fight when used with the right timing. This Ultimate can be used to save team fights or to lock down an AOE such as the objective at the beginning of the fight and use up some time on the clock – making it much harder for the enemy to engage. For this reason, Invisible Woman will rarely be a bad choice to clone with Loki’s Ultimate.

Moon Knight

One of the Only Ultimates That Can Secure Kills Through Significant Strategist Ults

Hand of Khonshu: Open a portal that allows Khonshu to bombard enemies with his talons.

Moon Knight is a rather situational pick when it comes to cloning with Loki’s Ultimate, but if players can utilize an opportunity to make a play with him, his Ultimate can certainly make this clone worth it. Hand of Khonshu has a generous size to the AOE of this ability and works effectively when used on its own or in combination with other hero abilities and Ultimates. In particular, slows, grapples, and stuns from characters can be effective – especially ones that can target multiple enemies, such as Groot’s Ultimate.

Moon Knight is best cloned by Loki to make a very offensive play, as his Ultimate is cast almost immediately without delay, and deals huge damage with every hit. This damage is so significant that it is one of the only DPS Ultimates that can still secure kills through the likes of Invisible Woman’s Invisible Boundry Ult. Loki can quickly transform into Moon Knight, throw down ankhs strategically, cast his Ult for high AOE damage, and then potentially even clean up remaining enemies as they attempt to scatter before his clone duration is up.

Hela

An Ultimate That Creates Intense Pressure & Deals Great Damage

Galactic Legend: Engage in free-flight and lock onto enemies in sight.

Hela’s Ultimate thrives in wide, open sections of the map, and enables the player to apply pressure through high-damage blasts from above, potentially forcing the enemy back away from the objective and securing picks from stragglers who fail to find cover. Hela can 2-hit KO most squishy characters on the roster while in her Ultimate, and deal a huge amount of damage to bulkier characters, enabling her team to follow up for the kill.

Hela’s Ult can be used very strategically, so being able to read the play and then utilize such a Clone as Loki can result in huge success when done right. By cloning Hela, Loki players can deny the point, potentially ticking down time on the clock and causing the enemy to either risk pushing in among her damage blasts, fall back and wait it out, or even force the enemy to use key Ults of their own to survive it. Furthermore, players don’t have to go immediately into Hela’s Ult – the rest of her kit is also extremely viable in making a push, as she can 2-tap squishies for an easy kill, stun the enemy, and use her flight to reposition to an advantageous position, before then going into her Ultimate.

7

Cloak & Dagger

An Insanely Valuable Ultimate For Locking Down Areas, Providing Simultaneous Heals and Damage

Cloak & Dagger

Strategist

Eternal Bond: Perform four rapid dashes, healing allies, and damaging enemies along the path.

There’s a reason Cloak & Dagger is seen in almost every match – they have been one of, if not the best Strategist characters since Season 0. Cloak & Dagger has a brilliant kit, featuring lock-on healing daggers, a window projectile that boosts the heals of everyone it passes through, an AOE healing sphere, lock-on damage similar to that of Scarlet Witch, a window projectile that blinds enemies it passes through, and lastly, the ability to cloak yourself and teammates, making them temporarily invulnerable.

Due to how this character functions, they consistently pump out the most heals in the game, and heal very high numbers in a single team fight. Due to this, Cloak & Dagger tend to gain their Ultimate faster than any other Strategist, enabling them to lock down an area with a trail that provides significant heals to any ally inside while also dealing chip damage to any enemies inside. Cloak & Dagger gets to control the trajectory of this AOE through 4 dashes, and the healing that it provides is enough to survive huge team fights and several notable enemy Ults. This makes Cloak & Dagger a very good choice for cloning as Loki – especially if you have your own C&D on your team, as you can rotate Cloak & Dagger Ultimates with them every other team fight.

Invincible Pulse Cannon: Fire a devastating pulse cannon in the targeted direction, delivering catastrophic damage to the targeted area upon impact.

Iron Man’s Ultimate is enough on its own to make him a worthwhile cloning option for Loki, as this ability can one-shot KO almost anything it hits, minus the possibility of some tanks at max HP + bonus shields potentially surviving it – barely. For this reason, players can choose to clone Iron Man during key opportunities in team fights, if they can get this blast off successfully, they are almost guaranteed to pick 1 or 2 people, at least as long as it connects.

This can be crucial during fights over the objective, especially when you are close to capping a point. If the enemy is forced to play on an objective, Loki can clone Iron Man and use his Invincible Pulse Cannon to either force them off the point temporarily – which is crucial in OT or to secure kills from those forced to stay on the objective. This creates an opportunity for your team to clean up any survivors, and if all goes well, secure the round, or even the win.

9

Winter Soldier

An Ultimate That Can Easily Secure Individual Picks & Refresh Use Multiple Times

Kraken Impact: Leap high, then dash forward and slam down with the bionic arm, dealing damage to enemies in range, marking them for Culling. Marked enemies will perish instantly if their health falls below a certain threshold, recharging the bionic arm for another Kraken Impact within a short period

Winter Soldier’s Ultimate is huge when it comes to playmaking and securing picks. This ability lets him slam into the ground to “mark” enemies, and then use his combos to finish them off. While the damage from the impact itself is enough to kill most enemies on low HP, Winter Soldier also can take someone from full health down to zero if he executes hits on both the impact and his combo abilities with perfection.

Furthermore, for every marked player that dies, Winter Soldier will receive his Ultimate Back – letting him use the initial “Impact” in repetition. Loki can clone Winter Soldier to lead a huge offensive push with his team or to follow up and confirm kills in a tight team fight. This Ultimate often causes the enemy to scatter, enabling your teammates to apply follow-up pressure on targets, and may even force out key cooldowns and enemy Ults. While the combination can be tricky to execute perfectly in some situations, a Loki who knows how to properly use Winter Soldier can carry a team fight on their own.

Karmic Revival: Awaken the karma of allies to revive them. Allies revived have lower health but enjoy a brief period of Invincibility.

Adam Warlock is a fairly situational pick when it comes to characters to clone with Loki. As a standalone hero, he is often simply out-played by the rest of the roster, as other Strategists tend to have more survivability tools, making him more vulnerable to the lives of dives. Loki players won’t want to Clone Adam Warlock for his healing or damage capabilities, as quite frankly Loki can do much better in those fields himself. Rather, Adam Warlock can be cloned for the use of his Ultimate – Karmic Revivial.

This ability enables the user to mass resurrect all recently fallen allies, granting them a second chance at the ongoing team fight, and often completely changing the tide in their favor – especially if the enemy team used significant Ultimates to kill your allies in the first place. As a Strategist, you will always want to try and be the last one alive on your team whenever possible, so if Loki finds himself in such a situation, and the fight is crucial (such as an OT fight, or determining if the objective is captured.
