Minecraft: Where To Find Armadillos & How To Use Them
With different mobs constantly being added to Minecraft, it is hard for players to keep up with which mobs are added and which are upcoming in the game. For players who may not know, mobs are an acronym for a few things such as mobile entities or mobile objects.
However, mobs can also be considered any non-player character (NPC) that dwells within the game world. Each Mob has a purpose within the game, and sometimes it is either to support the player by giving them food or materials needed to help make the player survive. Here is everything to know about Armadillos in Minecraft and what they can do for the player.

Where To Find Armadillos & How To Use Them
The Armadillo is a very innocent mob. As soon as they feel threatened or scared, they will crawl up into a ball or run away. While some mobs have the sole purpose of harming the player, and make it their mission to kill the player, the Armadillo is not one.
The Armadillo was a mob that was selected to be added to Minecraft in April 2024, the mob having won a vote between crabs and penguins that took place in the 2023 Minecraft Live Mob Vote. By winning the vote, it was added to the Armored Paws Update in April 2024.
With the expansion of different biomes, the Armadillo can be found within the Badlands, Eroded Badlands, Wooded Badlands, Savanna, Savanna Plateau, and Windswept Savanna biomes. This animal is found to be a skittish animal and, because of this, it was just snuck into the Armored Paws Update. However, moving into what this animal gives the player, Armadillos are similar to horses within Minecraft because they both need a lead to be brought back to the player’s camp or home. Once they are brought back to the player, they can be bred using a Spider Eye. When successfully bred, the player will receive between 1 and 7 experience points. If a player were to kill an adult Armadillo by either the player or a tamed wolf, it would give the player 3 experience points. The player will not receive any experience points if they do kill a baby Armadillo.
After having the Armadillo for quite some time, they also provide a key ingredient, armadillo scute. This material is needed if the player wishes to craft wolf armor. To get the armadillo scute the player must first make a brush which takes 1x feather, 1x Copper Ingot, and 1x Stick. Combining all 3 items will give the player a brush. Using a brush on an Armadillo will cause 13 points of the brush’s durability to be depleted. The player can get 1 armadillo scute every few minutes. However, the armadillo does drop 1 armadillo scute every few moments.
Minecraft is a game made up of blocks, creatures, and community. You can survive the night or build a work of art – the choice is all yours. But if the thought of exploring a vast new world all on your own feels overwhelming, then fear not!
Minecraft has no set goal and can be played however you’d like! This is why it’s sometimes called a “sandbox game” – there are lots of things for you to do, and lots of ways that you can play. If you like being creative, then you can use the blocks to build things from your imagination. If you’re feeling brave, you can explore the world and face daring challenges. Blocks can be broken, crafted, placed to reshape the landscape, or used to build fantastical creations.
Creatures can be battled or befriended, depending on how you play. The world of Minecraft allows for epic adventures, quiet meditations, and everything in between. You can even share your creations with other players, or play in community worlds!
